So what keeps us from flipping through realities all randomly? Like why doesn't reality just break down and go haywire?

Because, at a deep level of your consciousness, you don't expect it to.

Yes, so 3D can become a cartoon is what I imagine.  More power to you if you think this is possible in 3D.  I do not.

I see this as something like a hugely complicated web of potentialities, linked together by the choices we make in our day-to-day lives.  Turning left, vs turning right.  Asking out person A vs person B.  Having kids vs not having kids.  Etc.  All these outcomes (and many many many more) already exist and we are, in effect, merely navigating between the outcomes.  Like a huge Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book.

Or, in essence - we are not choosing the outcomes which exist.  We are choosing the outcomes which we observe.

And I think looking at it that way helps solve the riddle of how we "create our own reality."  Reality already exists; we're tourists sampling its many twists and turns and detours.

so if i'm understanding you correctly it would be like visiting a zoo, the animals are already laid out and in whichever cage at their particular location so they already exist there but you would only see the ones you walk by or choose to see (being the choices you make) the other animals still exist there but if you haven't made the "choice" to actually go up to them you won't see them but they are still there? i hope im kind of understanding this correctly if so it does make sense
