    i think it can mean the same thing as faith. for example, you can say, 'i have faith everything happens as it is meant to' or you can say, 'i trust everything happens as it is meant to' & imo you'd be saying the exact same thing.

    I would discern two different kinds or levels of trust:

    One would be like faith. Even if a situation seems to be really bad, i would trust that my higher self planned this for my best and there will be a solution to it, even if i cant see it.
    I would trust in life to be ultimately supportive.

    The other "trust" for me would be: i feel safe with a person or with a community. I trust that they wont do me harm orbetray me, thus allowing myself to relax, to open up and to show my vulnerability.
