Lately I've been feeling a bit monotonous and stuck in a lifeless routine, so this song from the Buffy musical episode (my favorite episode) fits my mood pretty perfectly as of this moment:

What song best describes your current mood as of late? It doesn't have to be positive, just whatever fits best.

    Jaco Pastorius bass solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxZWvhGE7CM&t=96s

There's a documentary about him on Netflix at the moment. I'd say this guy has wanderer written all over him, so some of you may want to check it out Wink

Anyhow something about this solo feels so right, so resonant, at this point in my life.

It's not what I listen to most of the time but this song I've been listening in loops for 4 days now. My whole body vibrates when the chorus comes. The emotions of this song are way too intense. It's the last track from the soundtrack of Lord of the rings: The return of The king.

Interesting. This video is 10+ years old, but I never saw it before today.
I don't know if I just manifested it or what. I even searched for the title before
and it only came up today. But this song describes me much of the time.

    squonk
"Have you ever seen a squonk's tears? / Well look at mine"
Song: Any Major Dude Will Tell You   Album: Pretzel Logic

A mythical woodland creature, originating in the sylvan northern portion of Pennsylvania, a state in the eastern U.S.
First mentioned in the book Fearsome Creatures of the Lumberwoods (1910) by William T. Cox, squonks are described
as  being very ugly creatures who spend much of their time crying due to their unfortunate appearance. When captured,
they are liable to dissolve completely into a puddle of of their own tears.

Shara Nova is a brilliant diamond of a musician whose Greater Self speaks in its own voice via certain of her most
complexly-layered songs, the performances of which could be perceived as channelings by those with the ears to hear.
This is how those of the Sumari affinity-group tend to operate, sneaky little meme-seeding devils that they are.

    "Pressure"
    Shara Worden: My Brightest Diamond
    THIS IS MY HAND (2014)

Mountain on top, a fire below
    The pressure grows, pressure
I feel the weight of a billion years
Come down on me, come down

I tried to do it all right
    I went down, down, down
    Working hard, little delight
    I forgot the sound of
    Diamonds!

So bright I cannot hide 'em
So heavy I cannot mine 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds
So wild I cannot tame 'em
So shiny I cannot name 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds

    Disperse the white light!

    Dancing on top the glitter-glow
    The pressure slows, pressure
I feel the blades, the cutting edge
    Move out, out, out

I tried to do it all right
    I went down, down, down
    Working hard, little delight
    I forgot the sound of
    Diamonds!

So bright I cannot hide 'em
So heavy I cannot mine 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds
So wild I cannot tame 'em
So shiny I cannot name 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds

    Disperse the white light!

Pink, purple, green, red, yellow, blue
I am in that mood indigo
Pink, purple, green, red, yellow, blue
I am in that mood for

    Diamonds
So bright I cannot hide 'em
So heavy I cannot mine 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds
So wild I cannot tame 'em
So shiny I cannot name 'em
    All of these pressures making
    Diamonds

    Disperse the white light!

    Disperse the white light!

    "Be Brave"
    Shara Worden: My Brightest Diamond
    ALL THINGS WILL UNWIND (2011)

I am a bird in water, a whale on sand
I am the flood, the fire, the oil spill
I’m feeling scared and I am overwhelmed
And so I don my mask and finger bells

    Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara now get to work
Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara this is going to hurt

    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone
    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone
    Undone

I am slave, I’m under house arrest
I am the beater, I am beaten for less
Than being punk and feeling anger swell
And so I don my beaded dress and finger bells

    Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara now get to work
Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara this is going to hurt

    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone
    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone --
    Undone!

It’s so hard, it’s so heavy
To be hungry, to be happy
It’s so light, it’s so easy just to be
It’s so hard, it’s so heavy
To be hungry, to be happy
It’s so light, it’s so easy just to be

Oh God, what would you do with me?
    Oh God, what’s my responsibility?
God, what would you do with me?
    Oh God, what’s my responsibility?

    Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara now get to work
Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Sh-Shara this is going to hurt

    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone
    Be brave dear one
Be ye changed or be ye undone

    Now be brave dear one
    Be changed or be undone
    Be brave dear one

    Be changed!
    Be changed!
    Be changed!

    Change!

I guess I've been feeling like certain parts of the song more than the entire thing, but I've been resonating with this song a lot over the last two weeks. How is that? Goddamn glorious.

Edit : Last week I even felt deeply thankful I didn't dig in this album before now.
Further edit : This song, to me, is very thematic of the wanderer's journey on Earth.
