The way/path/road of life/faith (Name is in Arabic so there tends to be various meanings assigned to root words).

Marc comes from Marcus which comes from the god mars meaning "warlike." It also means defender or hammer. I'm not sure of all the positive aspects of war yet. I actually didn't realize my name was derived from a god, so I have some studying up to do on my namesake.

I've always found name significance to be a quite interesting topic. The irony however is that my own name means nothing, ahah. "Tina", my first name, is simply a contemporary diminutive which has become a proper first name during the 20th century. I am therefore meaningless name-wise, ah! Wink

Immanuel - God is with us.

I prefer it to be "God is within us."

My given name means "leader of the people"
My middle name means "noble" or "harmonious"
My family name means "makers of coups, prisons, and barrels"

Therefore, my name means, "Man who harmoniously leads barrel-makers?"

My surname is "Light", implying the light from the Sun and the Moon. Also, a "Guiding Light" and the "Light from the East".

    Post Script, (unto myself).

Is anybody making any notes about this Thread? The supposition is, there could be a trend here. Or, by deciphering the names of the people, a pattern should appear?

People attracted to the "Law of One". You catch my drift? I am curious?

Okay, I am surprised. I looked up my name and:

    Quote:Etymology

The name “Diana” (known in Old Latina Jana, and in Late Latin as Diana) was rooted in the Proto Indo-European dyeu-, meaning “to shine” or “to give off light.” Derivatives of the same root included the Greek word theos, the Latin word deus, the Persian word daiva, and the Sanskrit word deva, which all translated as “god.” Other derivatives were the Latin word dies, meaning “day,” and diurnal, meaning "daylight." Diana’s elementary association with divinity and daylight suggested her long history as an Italian goddess, dating back to at least the first millennium BCE, if not farther.

I knew the goddess origins, but I did not know my name was associated with light in any way. Another interesting bit is that my parents didn't name me until some time after I was born. My father was insisting on a particular name name and my mother having no idea but not liking the name he wanted, just waited. She said one day the name, Diana, just popped in her head. She and I both think that was her getting the message from me. Smile

Quote:early 15c., patricion, "member of the ancient Roman noble order," reputed descendants of the original citizens, from Old French patricien, from Latin patricius "of the rank of the nobles, of the senators; of fatherly dignity," from patres conscripti "Roman senators," from plural of pater "father" (see father (n.)).

In ancient Rome, contrasted with the plebeius (see plebeian). In post-classical times, applied to noble citizens and higher orders of free folk in medieval Italian and German cities (a sense attested in English from 1610s); hence "nobleman, aristocrat" in a modern sense (1630s). As an adjective, attested from 1610s, from the noun. Related: Patricianism.

I'm not sure what my name would mean according to published name books, but Brandon can be broken down into Bran which is the raven of the battlefield- a war God, and don is an old English word which means to put something on. Gwinn can mean a combination of white, magic, life, and light. So altogether my name could mean something like an inspired warrior for the white magic light and life.

    What do you think?

In the history my name was simple an identification for the Ego.

In the process of awakening i have to find out that the NAME has such a big importance on this planet to treat us as beast.
This was confirmed by the Q'uo in the form that not every being wants or uses a name.
The result is to dissociate from registered names and keep them at arm's length.

So your question has a couple of implications for me.
But there is still the only name (forenames) i really got from my parents.
It derives from the greek Χριστός or latin Christós.
The complete name has multiple references in this direction.

At this moment i am not sure if i really want to have a name, but i am sure that it make sense to think about names.

Something interesting; my surname in real life means 'of gold', 'made of gold', 'gold inside'. It also means a small flower with white petals and gold/yellow center inside.
