who knows if the Buddha said these or not; I guess their value rises and falls on the vibration that they carry.

    - -

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”

    - -

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

    - -

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

    - -

“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.”

    - -

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”

    - -

“To understand everything is to forgive everything”

    - -

“The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows.”

    - -

“An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.”

    - -

“When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky”

    - -

“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

    - -

“A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. A man is not considered a good man because he is a good talker.”

    - -

“Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.”

    - -

“Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.”

    - -

“Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it.”

    - -

“Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others.”

what Ra said about the Buddha:

Quote:47.18 The violet-ray body may perhaps be understood as what you might call the Buddha body or that body which is complete.

Quote:42.14 the choosing of personally inspirational images is appropriate whether this inspiration be the rose which is of perfect beauty, the cross which is of perfect sacrifice, the Buddha which is the All-being in One, or whatever else may inspire the individual.

My favorite Buddhist parable is a story about loss and misfortune becoming a true blessing.

    The basic story is this:

A poor farmer relied on his only horse to plow his fields and carry his goods to market. One night, during a storm, the horse escaped from its coral. The farmer, upon waking in the morning, fell to his knees in desparation and agony. The next day, the horse returned with three wild horses which were the finest he had ever seen.
A short time after, the farmer's only son was thrown off one of the horses and broke his knee. The farmer depended on his son to help with the chores. He cried out in confusion, "why do terrible things keep happening to me?" The next, day a local warlord was taking all able-bodied men into battle. Upon seeing the son's broken knee, he departed. The battle was lost and many farmers lost their children. The farmer realized how truly blessed he was.
