I decided to do my first outdoor meditation of the year as the brutal Winter gives way to Spring. I sat leaning against a tree and just enjoyed the sun in my face and the sounds of the birds in the trees. Suddenly, I hear the sound of bird wings very close to me. I didn't move and opened my eyes, but couldn't see it so I continued to meditate. It landed on top of my head and started pulling on the hair on my head. It moved to the side of my head and then to the back and started pulling hair from the nape of my neck. A couple of times I flinched and it would fly off, but always came back. I guess the little guy was there for about 5 minutes or more. Never did see it because it stayed out of my field of vision. It was one of those times that I wish I had my cell phone with me so I could've taken a selfie with a wild bird on my head! Guess the little guy/gal was gathering nesting material. It's comforting to know that my hair will help bring in a new brood of baby birds. I am so grateful for Spring!
