OMG....I can't this s*** with my roommate anymore. Just got home from my friends house.....and somehow he managed to eff up the door knob not once....but twice so far since I put it in 2 years ago!! It was working fine when I left today.

Don't know what he did to it. It's like whatever he touches breaks and all he does is dirty up my fkn house man via coffee stains, dirt/rocks on the carpet, leaving garbage around, etc that I have to clean up. I'm just so sick of it. I already made it clear to him a couple months ago that I'm moving out...and now the reasons why I'm moving out are plainly obvious. All I'm doing to him now is just yelling and screaming at him. It's like I just wanna choke the hell out of him right now.

I can't even leave my house and come back without something breaking.

Omg....January 31st can't come quick enough than I AM OUT!!!!

hi GreatSpirit I don't really have any good advice for you but I can share an experience like that I've had akin to yours
I've had a good friend come live in my basement for a month before at my old house, because he was otherwise homeless... and he was huffing computer duster he stole from a dollar store and my sister and niece saw him intoxicated and I drew the line there and told him to leave and I his mom came and helped him move and it was easy as that. A few months later he got his s*** together and even got a girlfriend and was living on his own with her.

It's never easy living with people for me it seems I am personally trying to just live entirely alone at this point in my life.

Hope things go better for you.

Unfortunately I don't want to get into the realm of breaking a lease but yes thats the earliest I can leave.

No it's never easy to live w/someone. I know it's providing catalyst and I am failing miserably at it. I admit that.

Some people are just much better off by themselves. My poor foot is sprained now from kicking the door I can barely walk. Freaken hurts.

I honestly don't know what to do in these situations.  Is there any chance you can speak with your roommate about these things in the hopes that they will take some of it on board?  It does seem from your post that you have done so already without much success.  In that case, maybe the best thing to do is leave.  I don't know enough about your situation to say with any certainty that this applies to your current situation, but some people just aren't meant to live together.  Having your home be a place of distress is s***.  I hope things get better for you.

Hey man. My foot hurts. I won't be able to walk normally for like a week or 2 now. I've talked to him about various issues, such as uncleanliness and paying the rent/bills on time. He's pretty good with that now after I had to make him sign a contract, but what just gets me so angry is stupid s*** like the door knob. It's the fact that things break when he's around and he dirties up everything. I'm done with it but I can't just say eff it all because than my house won't be clean. I need a clean house. I'm not asking for spic n span.....just an "exceeds expectations" appearance.

OMG the other week I yelled at him because he didn't wash his plate properly. When I mean "didn't wash properly" I mean he just gave it a quick rinse with crap still on it. I brought the plate to him and said wash the plate the next time. It's apparent that we have different standards of cleanliness. Don't even get me started on how I had to clean out his old bedroom. That was the most disgusting room I have ever seen and told him point blank "don't you EVER let a effen room in this house get like that again!!" It was literally like a crackhead lived in there.

He isn't lazy in the sense that he doesn't work. He actually has a better work ethic than me!  He really reminds me of the 1950s era American male mentality, where the man works and just comes home to be fed and sleep. As soon as he comes home, he cracks a beer open and watches TV. Thats it.

Rest assured, my anger is my problem and its my reaction and he certainly can't make me angry. I'd be a hypocrite because I always tell people that no one MAKES you angry either. Lol...but you sure can sure as hell influence someone to get angry.

My problem is that I'm acting as a mother to him, but I kinda have to do it in order to ensure a clean home and that the bills get paid on time.

But no I don't want to break the lease so I'll duke it out for 5 more months, and than I'm outta here when the lease is up.......if I can make it that long.

i understand(somewhat) your struggle in everyday life GreatSpirit, but honestly, do these events matter so much as to respond with anger/hate to your other-self?

I guess you just have to be in my shoes. Live with this guy for a few months and if you're anything like me, oh yes you'll understand.

But obviously I know I am failing miserably at the provided catalyst that is given. Just something about him when an incident occurs that I just lose it and wanna choke him. I'd much rather just yell and scream and be done with it. We never got into any physical altercations though.

I guess my not liking him began in the beginning because he was stealing money from me that was supposed to go to the water bill. He didn't even ask me for money but being the nice considerate person I am, I told him take it and use it for the water bill. Well, we found out my money wasn't being used when we got the shut off notice. Since he's an alcoholic, I have no doubt he was taking that money and using it for booze. The guy is just too irresponsible to be trusted with anything.

But most of all, I just can't wait until I move out.
