It's good that you are learning about and working on yourself but please don't be too hard on yourself mate.
If I've said anything which has seemed too harsh let me know because I really do say a lot of things in the spirit of sass lol we all got our distortions.
seeking social approval is super common it's basically what one of the the biggest websites in the world (facebook) caters to, nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm with you, I know exactly what you mean.
