RE: what music are you listening to now - Zach - 12-21-2018

didn't think I'd ever have a favorite song. but this is it. forever ago

[Verse 1]
This my excavation and to–
–day is Kumran
Everything that happens is from now on
This is pouring rain, this is paralyzed
I keep throwing it down two
Hundred at a time
It's hard to find it when you knew it
When your money's gone and you're drunk as hell

[Chorus]
On your back with the racks as the stacks of your load
In the back with the racks and the stacks are your load
In the back with the racks and you're unstacking your load

[Verse 2]
I've been twisting to the sun
I needed to replace
And the fountain in the front yard is rusted out
All my love was down in a frozen ground
There's a black crow sitting across from me
His wiry legs are crossed
He's dangling my keys, he even fakes a toss
Whatever could it be that has brought me to this loss?

[Chorus]
On your back with your racks as the stacks of your load
In the back with the racks and the stacks of your load
In the back with your racks and you're unstacking your load

[Verse 3]
This is not the sound of a new man
Or crispy realization
It's the sound of the unlocking and the lift away
Your love will be safe with me

Cento e cinque Natali passati -- 105 Christmases Ago - Dekalb_Blues - 12-21-2018

  "1913 Massacre", Woody Guthrie, Struggle (U.S. 1941)

Take a trip with me in 1913,
To Calumet, Michigan, in the copper country.
I will take you to a place called Italian Hall,
Where the miners are having their big Christmas ball.

I will take you in a door and up a high stairs,
Singing and dancing is heard everywhere,
I will let you shake hands with the people you see,
And watch the kids dance around the big Christmas tree.

You ask about work and you ask about pay,
They’ll tell you they make less than a dollar a day,
Working the copper claims, risking their lives,
So it’s fun to spend Christmas with children and wives.

There’s talking and laughing and songs in the air,
And the spirit of Christmas is there everywhere,
Before you know it you’re friends with us all,
And you’re dancing around and around in the hall.

Well a little girl sits down by the Christmas tree lights,
To play the piano so you gotta keep quiet,
To hear all this fun you would not realize,
That the copper-boss thug-men are milling outside.

The copper-boss thugs stuck their heads in the door,
One of them yelled and he screamed, “There’s a fire,”
A lady she hollered, “There’s no such a thing.
Keep on with your party, there’s no such thing.”

A few people rushed and it was only a few,
“It’s just the thugs and the scabs fooling you,”
A man grabbed his daughter and carried her down,
But the thugs held the door and he could not get out.

And then others followed, a hundred or more,
But most everybody remained on the floor,
The gun-thugs they laughed at their murderous joke,
While the children were smothered on the stairs by the door.

Such a terrible sight I never did see,
We carried our children back up to their tree,
The scabs outside still laughed at their spree,
And the children that died there were seventy-three.

The piano played a slow funeral tune,
And the town was lit up by a cold Christmas moon,
The parents they cried and the miners they moaned,
“See what your greed for money has done.”

Arlo Guthrie covering his father's song; Hobo's Lullabye (1972)

A tear fell from my face
And found the softest place to land
And I awoke and now
I understand

And in this circle of life
Lived through it many times
It's just the end, it is
The end, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

I'll turn this thing around
I'll turn it upside down
I'll turn it into sounds to sing
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

DOMINION

Dominion of the world from end to end
Is worth less than a drop of innocent blood upon the earth

“See what your greed for money has done.”

December 24th 1913

Interesting! The same night when, on December 23rd 1913, USA was overtaken by the London bankers with their private cartel money-printing central bank FED , the "Federal" "Reserve" "Bank" (neither Federal, nor Bank and has no reserves).

I've heard that around that time copper was in very high demand?

Also, this, there was a mining strike:
Labor unions, strikes and violence in the Keweenaw: The Copper Miner Strike of 1913

By this time, I've heard, banker already penetrated the USA through Chicago, during Great Chicago Fire when lots of stuff burned and had to be rebuilt, and money had to be loaned from someone (naturally, London banks).

I'd bet there's absolutely no coincidence here.

[Note: In Advanced Spirituality™, one finds that the childishly-cartoonish ontological model of a bipolar Creation
presented by those of Ra in a compassionate attempt to Temper The Wintry Wind Of Truth To The Shorn Spring-Lamb
(i.e., most Earthlings) is necessarily replaced by the more-realistic model of an all-embracing tripolar reality . . .

*sigh*
Me, if I'm trapped in winter-bitter NYC with the damnYankees, and all the world is sad & dreary everywhere I roam, I long
for Dear Old Dixie (because obviously corn-likker & big-hair wimmen are just fleeting stopgaps against soul-deep saudade):

-- And still my heart is yearning-ever -- even further southwards, to where New Wave (Bossa Nova) music originated --
it's the sound par excellence for capturing the feeling-tone of deliciously balmy sea-breeze zephyrs gently caressing
your skin as you lay bare-ass on the beach under the Other set of stars. Tanked-up on corn-likker & attended by big-
haired wimmen, just for so -- 'cause there, of course, it makes sense.

if you had to pick 3 favorite artists/bands as your favorite *today*, who would they be?

Mine:

1. Bon Iver
2. Bob Marley
3. Brockhampton

(no emphasis on the first letter being B)
