Maynard Keenen, the frontman of Tool, strikes me as a classic wounded wanderer. Very spiritually minded, yet with a perception that has been warped by trauma. With this in mind, Tool's discography can be seen as the story of a man who begins with rejection and wrath when young, but eventually through the process of healing and self discovery ascends to a sacred understanding and reverence as he grows older.
I will now post four songs from four albums, each exemplifying the tone of the creative work and the progression of Maynard's healing. Notice how the music itself dramatically transforms with each album.
Song: Prison Sex. Theme: Abuse and the cycle of abuse.

Song: H.. Theme: Trying to let go of the traumatised portion of the mind. Resisting the attempts of the true mind to destroy you. Simultaneously being the true and traumatised portions of the mind and recognising the dynamic at play.

Song: The Patient. Theme: The patience required to be a spiritual patient and heal trauma, the ongoing process of reintegration.

Song: Jambi. Theme: Finding the divine pearl of love and never wanting to let go. Relinquishing all else for the pearl.

Special Mention just because I love it and it's epic (especially the build up and crescendo from 11:00 to 13:00) and hilarious: Rosetta Stoned. Theme: Psychedelic drug use and the fleeting sense of purpose and enlightenment which it can give you.

MangusKhan, I find parallels between Tool and Perfect Circle, as well as their skill in music to Porcupine Tree.
You might like to try listening to some of Porcupine Tree's songs.
They have a wide range of taste. Here's two to give an idea of the contrast:
The second makes apparent the skill of the drummer, Gavin Harrison. If you notice, even in the beginning of the song, he plays the toms in key and tone with the other instruments.
I like to say he's a melodic drummer.

A friend from work just recently introduced me to him and was telling me about how he made his music while struggling with schizophrenia and would record his own music and just hand them out to people while he worked at McDonald's. I was floored when I heard the artist song and a few others (including the one you posted
) with just how unfiltered his creative process was. Same friend also told me about how he did a song about King Kong and the same song was covered by Tom Waits, haha. All sorts of crazy/awesome.
