What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? - Adonai One - 07-01-2013

"For infinity to know itself."

I came up with some convoluted answers in the past but I think that's the simplest way to put it especially in the words of Ra with the first distortion being free will and all.

I think you can simplify that further by saying "Love"

Love is the second distortion. As a creative principle, I believe it can be transcended by other concepts in other universes (octaves).

I have been told Freewill can be replaced by other methods as well but I am not certain.

In potentiation. I don't believe they will all be conciously experienced.

Life is meaningless, every situation is neutral. You can give it meaning. And yes, you can indeed see everything as positive, and therefor you will get a positive effect out of it.

Makes sense Adonai. I never really jived with the teaching that in our past lives put together we have done everything. I never thought that even in a million past lives we could have done everything there is to do, and experience everything there is to experience. Usually they say that most people have had from a few hundred to a few thousand past lives from what I've read.

42. Also the area code for where I live.

or 420. The extended area code for where I live.

Not Sure is the meaning of life:

Awww, somebody beat me to the 42 joke. :p

RE: What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? - Hototo - 07-01-2013

HEY! Its my right. I live in a 42 area code... BigSmile I mean what are the odds... Well I suppose if I ever find it out it will be replaced by something even stranger.... ;D

Wonder where infinity got the idea of "knowing".

Okay bigshot, if the very concept of traversing infinity or "know itself" as the main mover of existence can be transcended... Is it only correct to say there are simply infinite meanings to all of existence? Tongue

RE: What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? - Hototo - 07-01-2013

Or more accurately, Infinite Intelligence.

RE: What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything? - Unbound - 07-01-2013

Imo, nothing "said" is in actuality correct as the words spoken are not the truth of what is, but only a vibrational reflection of some aspect of infinity.

The word that is the Tao is not the Tao. Smile

Since "before time" - *you* were the One Infinite Creator...

When you will find your "meaning of the so called "life"" - I think that you will return to where you came from - which ends in the now... And you will become what you were - the Infinite One...

But do you feel restless? Impatient? Or:

We may suggest that in order to progress, a state of some dissatisfaction will be present, thus giving the entity the stimulus for further seeking. This dissatisfaction, nervousness, or angst, if you will, is not of itself useful. Thus its use is indirect.?

Why does it have to have a meaning?

To be honest, I think that everything exists, because nothingness cannot.

I think "meaning" is a concept that egos superimpose upon the infinite. Egos need meaning, the infinite does not.

Objectively, there is no meaning. Subjectively, there is whatever meaning we ascribe to our experiences.

As Ra says, "The distortion is not in any case necessary."

Therein lies true existence and creative nature, excellent. Smile

Then what's the difference between meaning and purpose?

I thought they were synonyms.

Experience.

This. Experience can also be named as 'being', 'existing' or any other form of coherent/continous idea where the expanding of self (both STO/STS) is primary concept.

They can be interchanged depending on context - that is, a sense of purpose is meaningful. But one's sense purpose or meaning is rather unique and part of a process of discovery. Your choices have personal meaning - you choose to do certain things for reasons that are not fully conscious. Other people do things for reasons that are not fully conscious. And these things are not the same, yet both have real purpose and meaning.

So if you say the meaning of life is X, and you also say meaning = purpose, then you just reduced life to either nothing or expanded it to everything which renders it void of practical meaning or purpose. The only thing you can do is fool yourself by turning your imagined idea of the "meaning of life" into an axiom and keep referencing it based on actually discovered rather than totally imagined meaning.
