Do you take anything seriously? - Cyan - 01-12-2013

In my intuition I saw a thread by this name here and wanted to participate in it but when I looked at the place here I didn't see it so thought I should post it.

Topic is pretty wide, feel free to take the mic in any form you wish.

Discuss.

My balance of love/light I take seriously.
Other than that I like to have fun.

Why, because you do not?

Taking stuff seriously is the mark of a spiritually advanced person, living authentically, in touch with life.

I'm not sure I understand what it means when you say 'do you take anything seriously'

Seriously!

Not really. I take having very high intentions seriously. The rest I let just work itself out.

Great thread btw.

You kinda have to take some things seriously if you're going to live a somewhat responsible life in society unless your a recluse.

I take my job seriously as I have to care for patients during the time I X-ray them. I take the compassion and radiance of joy to them very seriously.

I also take my responsibility as a parent very seriously. My daughter is my number one priority when it comes to teaching/learning.

I walk responsibly in my life but find humor in almost everything. You can do both and the creator should have fun and laugh at itself sometimes. Mean people make me laugh, crazy's- even more, and I think I'm pretty hilarious.

The answer isn't yes or no.

Honestly.. I take everything/life seriously and nothing at all. I feel that as most truthful as my answer.
Clarification?: I take life very seriously but I know there is no need at all in a sense.

To play out the me I choose to be here, I take it seriously. Because that's my choice even if this all is.. borrowing words.. "just a ride" ZZzz

Hmmm so a more precise? answer would be..
"I take everything seriously but only because I choose so. Not because I think one should."

It would be crazy me thinks, to take life seriously when it is an illusion kinda. Yet it would be crazier not to take it seriously, as I am in it lol

Well these are my thoughts right now.

i go through phases of taking things seriously and not seriously. sometimes both.

i think on this forum things that should be taken seriously aren't and things that really don't matter are given too much cereal.

RE: Do you take anything seriously? - Spaced - 01-13-2013

I take everything exactly as seriously as I deem fit.

I'm serious about having fun, and find seriousness funny. That being said, I don't see fun and seriousness as being in any way opposed, but rather "seriousness" is just an attitude of focus. Of course, seriousness can be taken way too seriously.

Great thread By the way.

I'm going to expand on this post, and say that I've begun taking the teachings of Buddhism to heart.

You make your plans and do your best, but you don't attach yourself to a specific outcome. Whatever happens will yield a lesson that you can learn from. Attaching yourself to an outcome 'seriously' immediately associates a negative or positive outcome to something that doesn't truly matter.

Every experience in life has a lesson, and you just need the awareness to see that lesson.

Totally agreed. I poured all my energy and effort into creating that furry universe, so while I was in "creation mode" I was attached. But not anymore really. I am now in observation mode, just observing as things happen. I try to have no attachment to the result.

Everything in existence is seriously funny.

"Do you take anything seriously?"

Unfortunately, I still do from time to time. But I believe that there is no reason to. Also, it probably depends on what is meant by "taking seriously". Smile
