Classification of Dream types - Plenum - 01-15-2012

I've definitely been getting more into Dream Work and getting better recall. It's about time, as I first heard about the power of dreams from Mr Wilcock a very long time ago.

anyway, I've noticed that dreams come in certain types, and as a first step of analysis, determining what type of dream is a good idea.

I have these as a tentative groupings:

1) fantastical dreams. These are the night equivalent of daydreams - it is just the mind wandering and playing out roles. There is no real symbolism or deeper meaning, apart from what the mind is gravitating towards (which COULD be important). So called 'wet dreams' would be in this category.

2) prophetic dreams. I would say are pretty rare. An example would be dreaming of your uncle dying, and it happens the next day, or happened while you were asleep. In this type of dream, you are plugged into real world data, and are almost remote viewing/having a psychic experience.

3) symbolic dreams. When most people say, oh, I had a crazy dream last night, this is the type of dream they are referring to. Here the laws of physics and reality do NOT apply; people have multiple faces, everything is coded, there is a surface story, but you sense a meaning beneath it all. These dreams serve as catalyst or helping you work through catalyst.

4) past life dreams. Here it is past life recall, but in the context of a dream. A past life recall is immediate and without doubt. You recognise it instinctively. It is as real as any memory you have in this lifetime. Much like an orgasm, if you have to ask the queston of whether it is a past life recall or not, most likely it is not. Unmistakable.

any others?

i've never had a past life dream.

RE: Classification of Dream types - Plenum - 01-15-2012

never had I until quite recently.

I've been doing a lot of indigo ray work, so I don't know if that triggered it or not.

Lucid dreaming or as i understand it "conscious dreaming" as stated in LOO, contact to guides and other dimensional entities inc negative and "men in black" types can be acheived.

"Prophetic" dreams might be rare, but precognitive dreams are not. I have had them all of my life, and during a certain period of my childhood, I had an average of about 4 per month. Curiously, they have always been about utterly mundane events....never anything that appeared significant.

They were significant, however, in that they confirmed for me that our normal concept of time is illusory. I have known since I was about 8 or 9 years old, that there is only the "NOW", that everything that happens, happens simultaneously.

When you have precognitive dream, are these symbolic of the future, or do you experience (see/hear) something that you will later, again experience (from the same perspective) at a later time?

RE: Classification of Dream types - Ankh - 01-15-2012

I have some dreams that are difficult to explain what they are. They are very vivid, as it feels like this is really happening. Some examples of these dreams are for instance flying to the sun and monitor something, or flying to some isolated parts of the Earth and checking something out, or being on some *huge* space stations/crafts. This is almost always done in groups. I don't remember their faces, or looks, but sometimes I remember the vibration/s.

I recall one dream of this same nature, and in that particular dream I was seeing many entities flying around the Earth, doing something, it is almost like they were working/"playing" with the energies that surrounded Earth, and were trying to make it smoothe. If you ask me, these were some beings that were/are trying to make the shift into 4D comfortable on energetic level. I saw a lot of energies that were disharmonious, but there were these instreamings of "lighter" nature, which these beings worked with, as it seemed to me. Then they showed me something. They "said" (telephatically): think of a palm tree; and now see the creation of this palm tree in a thought form. And I saw a creation of a most beautiful palm tree. Its trunk was created of the most beautiful, golden and alive light, and its leaves were of a most beautiful, alive green color, sparkling like emeralds. What are these dreams? I don't know, but they could be time/space experiences, while the body is sleeping in space/time. But one can never know this for sure of course.

I experience things exactly as they will happen. I just move forward in time and live the experience "before" it "happens". There is nothing "symbolic" at all.

In each of these types of dreams, how far behind the events are you?

As particlepopup mentioned, I would add lucid dreaming to your list.

I have had a few past life dreams just as you describe (knowing they were), and many precognition dreams (and will add that like Eddie, most were mundane, like dreaming the next day I would have a flat tire).

I have had some lucid dreams, but have not gotten to the point of controlling them consciously.

There is another type of dream I have had (often). I dream that I am with someone who has passed on. Even pets. I would not know how to categorize them. Usually I know they are passed on and I am so happy to see them.

In the Castaneda books, he talks a lot about dreaming and the dreaming body. Although, these books are of a specific nature and out of the stream of typical esoteric literature.

I was not behind them, I was ahead of them. At that early stage of my life I was ahead by an average of two or three weeks. Now it has stretched out to six months or so.

Diana, the dreaming body is of utmost importance. There is hardly anything more worth pursuing and developing. If you can join us at the next homecoming we can discuss this in some detail. Take note: this is extremely important.

Another type of dreaming is common, and significant, for me. That is the experiencing of parallel (probable and near) realities. This happens to me often. Most commonly for me, I am in materially reduced circumstances, but otherwise the same; married to the same woman, and living in the same (present or former) place.

I think Eddie meant the Homecoming L/L Research has every year. You can read below about the one held in August 2011:
