Significator Talk - 3DMonkey - 03-17-2011

(03-17-2011, 11:10 AM)deangraves Wrote: When we apply the significator (biases and prejudices) by assigning an emotional value to the experience, it becomes kinetic (part of our material manifestation). If we never apply an emotional value to the experience, it never manifests. If we use only the significator we remain asleep and repeat the cycle until we awaken and begin to use our freewill (take charge of our life). It is only then that we are able to begin to move into the Transcendence phase and evolve.

Will you expand on your understanding?
Points that jump out as not in line with my understanding are:
apply or use the significator
assign emotional value

A simple analogy to describe my view is that the significator is a bag into which we drop the results of experiences. Transformation is one of two conveyor belts we set the bag on.

I have no idea what Significator, Transformation and The Great Way mean and most people here seem very confused about the tarot archetypes. I can't confirm or deny if what he said accurately describes the Significator, let alone provide any useful input.

This is somewhat helpful: http://www.floating-world.org/Tarot.htm

Oh, I loooove reading and contemplating the archetypes explained by Ra.

if deangraves is taking what I understand to a different level, I am interested. Hopefully deangraves logs in to read the thread that is very dependent on his/her answer. LOL, maybe not the best method for a thread starter.

I gather that deangraves is speaking of the generation of new karma by reacting to catalyst through one's preexisting biases, thus making one's life experience more distorted. Is this correct, deangraves? And how would we interpret this situation within the Tarot archetypes?

RE: Archetype Talk - Phoenix - 03-23-2011

In my understanding, the matrix of the mind is the conscious and the potentiator of the mind is the subconscious. I'm not sure it is possible to 'only use the significator of the mind'

Instead of 'transcendent' I think what this person means is 'transformation' which is the following archetype.

Also, I see the significator of the mind as a phase which uses catalyst very efficiently.

It is worth mentioning that the Significator is what "must needs become complex" in the veiling process. Ra describes the significator as a simple and unified concept prior to the veiling. It is also worth mentioning that Ra then describes the vehicle of 3-d experience as a "mind/body/spirit" rather than a "mind/body/spirit complex". I have taken this dovetailing of the the notions of simple and complex in tandem with the invention of the veiling as an indication that the significator is a representation of the complex in question. In other words, the Heirophant is a picture of your mind complex in its routine operations, the Hanged Man a picture of your body complex, and the Sun a picture of your spirit complex. It is at this point that the Choice card can take one a prominent role in relation to these three cards: perhaps it depicts the mind/body/spirit complex as a totality.

I agree, however, that the harvest of experience from the various movements of the mind and body complexes are stockpiled in the first two Significators as biases (which become more and more consciously chosen, as the Great Way cards indicate). On the other hand, the Significator of the Spirit does not seem to be a locus of bias in the same way as the other two. Rather, it is an infinite outpouring which appears to have bias, but that is only because the mind is limited in its ability to perceive the infinite outpouring. The light cannot fill the darkness until the eyes are open, and we must open the eyes infinitely many times before we can truly appreciate the infinite abundance of that Sun within.

RE: Archetype Talk - Conifer16 - 09-12-2011

I am starting to learn about the Archetypes and when looking at this study guide http://www.lawofone.info/pdfs/study-guide-to-the-archetypes.pdf I saw the card lightning Potentiator of the spirit number 16, and noticed that in the background there is a pyramid that has been struck by lightning and it has created damage to the top most part. now my point to this is that recently the washington monument was struck by lightning and the top was cracked, which my mind immediately turned towards when I saw the illustration in the study guide and the first thing that came to mind was that it was symbolic of our spirit coming into potentiation(Sp?) or at least events had led me to the web page to see this and everything was put together so I would be given the symbol of the spirit in potentiation, and that maybe this was supposed to alert me to the importance of that archetype. which means i will have to look into this card more and meditate on what it means to me. anyway just wanted to share that interesting correlation between this archetype and the recent event with the washington monument.

Thanks,
