A random choice generator/ idea to simulate and create custom oracles easily - Black Dragon - 03-18-2021

I've worked with various online tarot decks(both myself and gotten readings from others) and a couple occasions with I Ching.  Some people out there create their own oracle systems, Lyssa Royal Holt has something called the Galactic Heritage Cards that's quite extensive. Usually creating your own system would be tough but I will be experimenting with a method here that will make it both easy and effective. Usually with a custom oracle, people spend lots of time and money designing beautiful cards or having an artist do it or a they or someone else would need to program a website to do it in a virtual way. What I'm going to be working with requires none of that. You can design art and stuff later this gives one the skeleton to quickly make a working divination system.

The only thing one will have to design from scratch is a list of their "cards" and what they mean, and whether they will have reversed meanings or draws and all of that. They will design the number of cards in the deck and what each one means. One can choose anything from animal spirits to runes or mythology, be it traditional mythology or even their own mythology, to anime or anything really. The clearer the ability to understand symbols and archetypes the clearer and more extensive they can make the card definitions.

Step one to to this, is just create it in a list form. Write or type out a list of your "cards" by name and meaning and if they have a reversed meaning. Now, this is the really straightforward and bland looking tool you will be plugging the list into:

This is a random choice generator. Same algorithm the free oracle sites use. You can add the entire list of your cards to the pool for the generator, and if you want reversed just write the card name again as a second entry with[R] or something next to it to indicate reverse. That simple. The generator will give you the choice to draw one or multiple options at a time from the pool/list/"deck", enabling the use of any existing or custom spread. So, I'll be trying it...but why wait until I've finished making a system to share this, it's so easy for anyone interested.

There might be an option to save on the site but if not you can just have a list on a notepad program to copy/paste into the box every time and it would still be fast.

Additional info: At first I saw no way to make a spread, but all you would have to do is lets say you pick 10 cards from the generator, just first have 1-10 correspond to the categories on your spread like "past" "future" "heart of the matter" etc. so on your results list, the first drawn card would be number one and be whatever category number one corresponds to.

Yeah in a way, more like Tarot but it could be as close or as different to actual tarot as one desires.
