How do you cultivate unconditional love? - cherria - 02-25-2021

Hi,
I'm wondering what are some practices that I could do that can cultivate unconditional love for all over time.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - Diana - 02-26-2021

One suggestion: Try to be honest with yourself about yourself. It sounds easy but it isn't, given the complexity of the human mind.

The more honest you can be with yourself—and that includes who you were 5 years ago, ten years ago, and where you were at mentally and emotionally at those times—the more you can see the absurdity in judging others. People are who they are at any given point in time. Awareness evolves and grows, so who you are now is not who you were ten years ago, or yesterday. In realizing this, you may not only forgive yourself for what amounts to ignorance (lack of awareness) but others as well by extension of this concept. And that, I think, is the beginning of unconditional love.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - MrWho - 02-26-2021

Unconditional love is a very difficult balance, even though it does not seem so on the surface.

It is exactly as Diana says! Being honest with yourself is so important! You can be loving of all people, unconditionally, yet still not allow them to hurt you.

Forgive these rigid and long quotes, however they are so important.

https://www.lawofone.info/s/67#10

Quote:Questioner: We have a paradoxical situation in that in order to fully serve the Creator at this level in the polarized section, you might say, of the Creation, we have requests, from those whom we serve in this density, for Ra’s information. In fact, I just had one by telephone a short while ago. However, we have requests from, in this particular case, another density not to disseminate this information. We have the Creator, in fact, requesting two seemingly opposite activities of this group. It would be very helpful if we could reach a condition of full, total, complete service in such a way that we were by every thought and activity serving the Creator to the very best of our ability. Is it possible for you to solve, or possible for the fifth-density entity who offers its service to solve, the paradox that I have observed?

Ra: I am Ra. It is quite possible.

Here we see a conflict in serving the infinite creator. A paradox in unconditional love if you will. If we truly saught unconditional love. With this quote in mind. We would seek to serve those here on Earth by sharing the Law of One.

However as is the case with this quote there seems to be a separate portion of creation, a being from a higher density that does not want such sharing to happen.

So what do we do? Thankfully the very next quote helps us out here.

Quote:Questioner: Then how could we solve this paradox?

Ra: I am Ra. Consider, if you will, that you have no ability not to serve the Creator since all is the Creator. In your individual growth patterns appear the basic third-density choice. Further, there are overlaid memories of the positive polarizations of your home density. Thus your particular orientation is strongly polarized towards service to others and has attained wisdom as well as compassion.

You do not have merely two opposite requests for service. You will find an infinite array of contradictory requests for information or lack of information from this source if you listen carefully to those whose voices you may hear. This is all one voice to which you resonate upon a certain frequency. This frequency determines your choice of service to the One Creator. As it happens this group’s vibratory patterns and those of Ra are compatible and enable us to speak through this instrument with your support. This is a function of free will.

A portion, seemingly, of the Creator rejoices at your choice to question us regarding the evolution of spirit. A seemingly separate portion would wish for multitudinous answers to a great range of queries of a specific nature. Another seemingly separate group of your peoples would wish this correspondence through this instrument to cease, feeling it to be of a negative nature. Upon the many other planes of existence there are those whose every fiber rejoices at your service and those such as the entity of whom you have been speaking which wish only to terminate the life upon the third-density plane of this instrument. All are the Creator. There is one vast panoply of biases and distortions, colors and hues, in an unending pattern. In the case of those with whom you, as entities and as a group, are not in resonance, you wish them love, light, peace, joy, and bid them well. No more than this can you do for your portion of the Creator is as it is and your experience and offering of experience, to be valuable, needs be more and more a perfect representation of who you truly are. Could you, then, serve a negative entity by offering the instrument’s life? It is unlikely that you would find this a true service. Thus you may see in many cases the loving balance being achieved, the love being offered, light being sent, and the service of the service-to-self oriented entity gratefully acknowledged while being rejected as not being useful in your journey at this time. Thus you serve One Creator without paradox.

There are not just two sides to a story. In fact there are an infinite number of ways in which you are being offered to love.

"The one voice upon which the group resonates to serve the infinite creator."

This is the key. The group was only able to maintain contact with Ra because they resonated in unity with themselves and the infinite creation.

Unity.

With those who you do not get along with or "resonate", you simply as Ra says:

"wish them love, light, peace, joy, and bid them well"

This brings us back to the first point. Be honest with yourself!

For you to be who you truly are, you must honestly value yourself!

Basically "you are the company you keep" to quote a common saying.

So in this way we can give ourselves to unconditional love of the infinite creation without conflict. For we have done our due diligence in love of all other-selves and just as importantly our own selves

Infinite love/light.

"If you can get to the place of acceptance, then you can get to the place of forgiveness. If you can get to the place of forgiveness, then you can get to the place of compassion. If you can have compassion for another human being in spite of what they are doing, saying and believing that is deplorable to you, then you can get to a place of unconditional love. And when you can get to the place of unconditional love, that’s when you become Source in a physical body, and that is how you complete your soul’s journey."
from daniel scranton's channeling: https://danielscranton.com/how-to-complete-your-souls-journey-%e2%88%9ethe-9d-arcturian-council/

i would add that understanding helps lead to acceptance. if you can see into the inner motives of why people do subpar things, you usually find a misguided innocence that's just trying to feel ok. when seen in that light, it's easier to feel compassion.

Hi, Cherria.  Lovely question.

For some of us this comes easily, while others--such as myself--have to work at it.  One of the practices I'm currently using is described below, but I first want to offer some general thoughts.

One can emphasize understanding, or one can toss it aside and immerse oneself in loving vibrations as close to those of the Creatrix as one can find.  Simply doing this is one practice I use, but it's pretty hard to describe it in a way that might be useful to anyone else.

Anyhow, I just want to encourage you in your quest because you're aiming towards the fundament of being in the sense that all that is is love, distorted this way or that way.  How you choose to distort it is one of (or many, many, many of) the most important choice(s) you make.

So, here's my offering.

1.  Sit comfortably.
2.  Conjure for yourself feelings of what you recognize as deep, deep love.
3.  Offer this to yourself.
4.  Allow your mind to wander freely, and to every person who pops up in your random thoughts, offer this distillate of love.
5.  Just wander from one to the next until you feel like doing something else.

Also, here's a practice from Q'uo, 14 APR 2006.

Quote:Practices which aid an entity in becoming more aware of his own heart are those practices which are very momentary. It is difficult to discipline the self to use the present moment. But it is in the present moment that you may practice opening the heart.

Stop and think about your facial expression. Are you smiling? Are you frowning? Place upon your face the beginnings of a smile and each time that you become aware of your expression, curve up the edges of your lips into a slight smile. Over time, examine the results of this seemingly completely superficial practice.

When you become aware that you are entering the presence of another, take a moment to acknowledge, accept and admire the perfection of that individual. Naturally, that perfection is not apparent to the outer eye in most cases. Do not let that stop you. You know that each entity is the Creator. Take a moment to establish that acknowledgement, acceptance and admiration.

I guess these two aren't all that different: one is self-activated while the other is done on the fly.

Great answers so far.

I think most of us are still working on doing this. There are several exercises given by Ra.

Quote:10.14 Questioner: For general development [of the] reader of this book, could you state some of the practices or exercises to perform to produce an acceleration toward the Law of One?

Ra: I am Ra.

Exercise One. This is the most nearly centered and usable within your illusion complex. The moment contains love. That is the lesson/goal of this illusion or density. The exercise is to consciously seek that love in awareness and understanding distortions. The first attempt is the cornerstone. Upon this choosing rests the remainder of the life-experience of an entity. The second seeking of love within the moment begins the addition. The third seeking powers the second, the fourth powering or doubling the third. As with the previous type of empowerment, there will be some loss of power due to flaws within the seeking in the distortion of insincerity. However, the conscious statement of self to self of the desire to seek love is so central an act of will that, as before, the loss of power due to this friction is inconsequential.

Exercise Two. The universe is one being. When a mind/body/spirit complex views another mind/body/spirit complex, see the Creator. This is an helpful exercise.

Exercise Three. Gaze within a mirror. See the Creator.

Exercise Four. Gaze at the creation which lies about the mind/body/spirit complex of each entity. See the Creator.

The foundation or prerequisite of these exercises is a predilection towards what may be called meditation, contemplation, or prayer. With this attitude, these exercises can be processed. Without it, the data will not sink down into the roots of the tree of mind, thus enabling and ennobling the body and touching the spirit.

I have found this to be very helpful. Regular meditation, even if just for 1 minute a day, will lead to increasing your love for the world. Add in these exercises, even if you only do them sporadically, and you will make progress.

Also as cheesy as it sounds, try asking yourself "what would love/jesus/etc do".

I'm working on my heart chakra via meditation. I've always been able to feel my lower chakras, even before I was aware of what they are, so this approach works for me. Otherwise, perhaps just plain meditation without a focus on any particular chakra. As someone else said, even 1 minute is something.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - Minyatur - 02-27-2021

I'd say see every thought that are without unconditional love as an opportunity to center yourself in unconditional love.

Sometimes the work leads us layer by layer, and sometimes we find we are holding in some layers of our heart that which is not at all what we expect to find there.

A couple of years ago I was working off and on, clearing stuff before I got out of bed in the morning, and I felt a fiercely directed bolt of hatred and anger shoot out from my heart.  Needless to say, I was surprised and just a bit concerned.  Some time later I asked someone about it who can read such things and was told that it was concentrated energy I used in past lives when in battle.  I asked, what was it doing in my heart?  I was told, "That's where you put it."  I found that slightly amusing in its simplicity.

I later thought about how the heart focuses energy in some ways more potently than the chakras below, and I thought of the necessity of having your heart plowed into your work if you're regularly exposed to, and responsible for, repulsive acts of horror.

This is all to say, you're difficulty in accessing your heart may, in some sense, be a self-protective measure.  Ergo, some degree of gratitude might be in order, surprisingly...perhaps.

To any who feels this might apply to them, I might suggest that focusing for some time on cultivating transcendent, overarching forgiveness could be a useful way to approach the general matter.  Forgiveness is surely a form of love, and if you encounter your own potent shadow along the way, it's a blessed, grace-filled vibration to be able to call upon as a way to help balance one's energetic structure...if you're into that sort of thing.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - mayojojo - 02-28-2021

The most effective way to cultivate unconditional love is not through visualization or imagination or dwelling in concepts of what love is...but to actually just practice it through every day life experiences.

So instead of focusing so much on spiritual practices and ways to align cakra centers, just live your life unconditionally by trying to love unconditionally in every moment. A simple way is to learn to give yourself a pat in the back for every achievement you've done in life, for every mundane things you do...you know like going to the bathroom lol... and also for the horrible mistakes too...you know when you trip over! And then to further that practice learn to love others in the same way, even those you don't like.

Remember unconditional love is unconditional, no exceptions Smile!

And yes...if you feel like these steps are challenging, then you are cultivating properly.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - jafar - 03-02-2021

Many ways, few simple practical example:
- Give / help in fullest sincerity, by expecting nothing in return.
- Say thank you, even to those who expressed hatred towards you.
- Be grateful for all of the events that you have experienced and you're now experiencing.
- Be happy for others, even if their happiness does not correlate with yours (ie: losing a match, a competition, your girlfriend / boyfriend found a better match other than you etc..)
- Be humble

Absolutely. Forgiveness is about letting go of certain emotions. Once you work on that, it becomes easier to work on the chakras. The journey is different for everyone depending on their individual circumstances, but I did find progress in letting go and then going straight to certain chakras. They all seem to connect anyway so if people want to do a different type of mediation it may work for them, too.

All of this is hard work, but it has to be done. I don't have a great deal understanding of 3D emotional entanglements (obviously I do have human emotions, I just don't appreciate them as much as I should), so the New Age of the planet suits me fine, but it takes a lot of effort to lift yourself out into your natural resonance. It's a good time now for anyone to work on unconditional love because the 3D planetary energies are being "washed" with higher dimension energies.

So, Cherria, if you can find a reliable spiritual counselor, this can be another way of helping you down the path. Though I've also found that spirit guides can provide a lot of guidance too.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - LeiwoUnion - 03-03-2021

I have a small take on what I've done regarding this. It also doesn't require much 'advancement' as the method is easy to understand by most people, and can be built on as one becomes more aware. The best thing is that it can be taught even to the sleepiest of the sleepers in the guise of 'positive thinking' which is usually more approachable form for many (do you remember Ra's 3D experience?). Most of us are aware of the benefits of 'positive thinking' but fail to come up with anything practical that also doesn't sound delusional, so people usually are receptive to this teaching. We all know the phrase 'the moment contains love' from Ra's 'first exercise' for general development. This while being almost absolute, as all is Love, can be rather hard to grasp by our (very) distorted and narrow point of view. In my expanded (and a bit distorted towards 3D) version of this exercise 'the moment contains many sources/aspects/layers of love'. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, one can consciously stop and make a realization in mind that 'the moment contains love'. Then what is it that comes to your mind first? Then second, and third and so on. Ra was/is bad with our numbers but to be honest, we love our numbers, don't we; and lists. So keep on going deeper and deeper into the things that contain love at certain variations/colorizations/intensities/complexities etc. You'll begin to see that they are actually the same thing(s) all the time but in differently ordered series depending on our current 'point of view distortion'. Take out the 3D (or other D's too but especially 3D) and all there is left is love. That is why veiled 3D is so powerful in providing catalyst, as it is so thick with experience that we just cannot see the universal truths without extremely deep conscious awareness and some blind faith. In this sense, the veil was a genius move; kudos to that logos or the aspect of All that came up with it. Too bad it cannot really be fully appreciated until the, I guess, higher self stage at late 6D (?); maybe 7D. In my view it is obvious that even Ra at their level carry their veil affected experience with them and it has an effect, still, in everything they do (while 'the choice' has no longer developmental meaning, it still causes bias that could be called personality). That is who we are until all individualistic distortions are dissolved in the unity of 7D regardless of the entity's level of awareness about the Law of One. Eh, I got carried away, so anyway back to the topic at hand.

An example of one possible 'train of thought'. The scene: I'm walking my dogs with my son in nearby forest.
- 'the moment contains love' - I'm with my son, and I love him deeply - I love my dogs, too - I love the nature - I love forest strolls - I especially love trees - etc. usually many 'I love's' come first - I see my son, I feel his love too, of many things - I can hear a happy family playing in their yard nearby - while annoying and making me crazy sometimes, I can feel the love in the dogs when they're let to do their antics - I can almost physically feel the love radiating from the trees; to the soil, to the clean air, to other trees, to us enjoying being - snow is melting, the expectation of spring hangs in the air - birds, birds have begun their song - the smell of forest soil - I heard a loud movement of some machinery far away, it reminds me of my enjoyment of all things mechanical, of tinkering, of fixing - I saw water flowing down the slope, there is some primal, ancient love/desire in the way water finds its way downwards - dogs*** sticks out from the now melting snow; I see beyond the surface, all the minerals, biological matter waiting in the stasis of winter to be returned to the circle of Earth life - my son walked over said dogs***, flustered and angry, I showed him the way, we hugged, the good feelings still linger - I got water in my shoe; it was time to return home anyway, and I'm grateful for this reminder/catalyst that lunch must be waiting already - the glare of the Sun greets us between the branches of the trees, it is magnificent how something so obvious, almost taken as granted, is Love in its purest form; The Creator greeting a creator; I am truly happy and joyous to live in this moment containing love - I sneeze uncontrollably; love overload.. again.. 3D bodies are so strange.

In mind this can take just few seconds, if done in a meditative way. Sometimes it's fun to let the conscious mind step in and contemplate on these observations. Then the train of thought usually lasts a bit longer, but it is useful (or essential even?) to teach the conscious mind of these universal concepts that you deep down might realize and understand, but have hard time translating into your 3D brain. I hope this explanation didn't come out too convoluted.

@ LeiwoUnion:

Your method of finding the love in the moment is something I do as well. It reminds me of the following quotes from the Castaneda books (quotes from Don Juan):

Quote:For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length--and there I travel looking, looking breathlessly.

Quote:For me the world is weird because it is stupendous, awesome, mysterious, unfathomable; my interest has been to convince you that you must assume responsibility for being here, in this marvelous world, in this marvelous desert, in this marvelous time. I want to convince you that you must learn to make every act count, since you are going to be here for only a short while, in fact, too short for witnessing all the marvels of it.

Quote:A warrior knows that he is waiting and he knows what he is waiting for, and while he waits, he feasts his eyes upon the world.

RE: How do you cultivate unconditional love? - Glow - 03-07-2021

Cultivate is a good word.

We cultivate soil before we plant seeds.

In this case though pre-veil we already had unconditional love - because we knew unity was truth, and could see beyond the masks.

So perhaps it’s not about learning anything new, but unlearning what separates us from the truth we already carry/carried.

Pulling up weeds, the knowledge of good and evil was metaphorically a plant in the garden.

It too started from a seed that was allowed to grow. Take root. Metaphorically this is what removed us from the loving unity of Eden. So to go back, now with our hard won wisdom we pull that plant.

Cultivate the soil and pull up weeds of judgment.

We judge otherselves because in fear or pain we assumed they are different, their actions out of context are so foreign.

We see part of their story and push them away(judge) verses embrace(accept/love) because we are ignorant of their entire path.

The more you hear people’s stories, the nitty gritty, the more you’ll find people’s lives took them for the most part, one event giving way to the next, to the next. Trauma building, reactions from pain/fear leading to the next “choice”.

The more you open to hearing people’s darkest parts the more you can see how a beautiful divine spark could step into any life and be distorted into which ever human face you gaze upon. Compassion is easy then.

At that point the more cold and cruel, it just means divine spark has had a tremendously difficult trip though time.

All trips are difficult. So one could remove judgements in consiousness or perhaps get to really know people.

I have been blessed that people tell me their darkness, strangers even, I believe it’s just because I am open, im told they know I won’t judge.

If you can muster that nonjudgment through compassion I highly recommend the experience of then just engaging in conversations most avoid. Listening to things they fear to tell others will reveal their beauty.

It’s easy to love anyone when you know their true path, then it becomes automatic to know even those you haven’t heard their storey have the same within them.

We litterally are all one. This pure divinity put through catylist life after life to form distortion that would cause infinite variation.

The way back is using catylist to erase those distortions, seeing through the distortions erasing our judgements about them, returns us to unconditional love, thats is a step towards reunion.

Sorry for the ramble.
I wanted to reply earlier but with so much to say I couldn’t decide which to share. You got a mish mash. Smile

Good luck on your quest, it’s a great subject to work on.

I absolutely find your analogy of cultivating the soil to what finally enters us into the realm of unconditional love. In my mind no wiser words could be said. As unconditional love cannot happen until we cultivate our gardens and ready them for the planting of these most precious seeds. Thank you for this beautiful wisdom filled reply. It has so much lovely value.

Start using the keyword 'despite'.

You love your friend 'despite' X. You love your colleague 'despite' Y etc.

Thank you so much for this example! I've actually had a hard time understanding exercise 1, but this explains it so well. I've been trying this for the past couple days and it really has an affect and it gets better after every time I try to see the love in the moment.

I'm so glad you found it helpful. Your kind and sincere words were the love in my moment just now.

I don't have any particular message for cherr, so I will veil it by drawing a tarot card as the solution to the question.

This is what I got. Description can be read there.

Unconditional love is when you can live in the neutral state, (in stillness and in the moment), and without judgement to anything or anybody. Just be. Also, before you can have unconditional love, you must first love yourself, (unconditionally). We have all made mistakes. That is in the past, it no longer exists or matter. Live in the now. The future is a myriad of possibilities of what, (might), happen. A single action in one moment, can change all possible futures. There is no future, it is only a moment that has not happened yet. Be non-judgemental and if you need to have an opinion that may have negative results, make it as minimalistic as possible, (better still), let it pass. You cannot learn unconditional love overnight. Begin with little things. Treat everybody as equal, (no matter their status). Once you begin to feel contentment within yourself, other people begin to notice the inner stillness. A quote from the Buddha. When we are at peace, the world is at peace.

Nurture (the Self) and give (to Others).
