Hearing Voices and noises in self-induced trance - Wanek697 - 02-22-2019

Hello!

Sometimes, while I'm lying in bed before going to sleep, I like to try and bring my attention and focus to my pure state of being. I do this with hopes of making contact with my higher self.

Most times, when I do this, I notice subtler and subtler movements of my consciousness. I begin to move into a trance. The further I'm able to move into this trance, without getting distracted, the more intense and immersive the trance becomes.

There's a certain degree of intensity/immersiveness of this trance where I begin to hear voices murmuring or noises. I have never made it farther in this trance than this point. My attention and focus will begin to shift towards these voices or noises. This always results in the ending of the trance state.

The noises I hear usually sound like standard sine waves moving up and down in key. Usually making a "whoooooOOOOOOP" sound. I always snap out of the trance at the end of said "whoop".

The voices I hear are almost always carrying out what sounds like poetry. I can hear/feel the words flowing in a rhythmic fashion like that of a poem. Even though I don't know exactly what words they are saying, I can tell that they are rhyming as often as a typical poem would rhyme. It's only when I begin to distinguish what it is that they're saying that I snap out of my trance.

Sometimes the tail end (all that I can remember) of what they say is cool and interesting to ponder. One time I remember being left with just the word "practice". I'm a musician so the word practice is very familiar to me.

Other times, the words I'm left with a concrete memory of are somewhat scary. One time, I remember hearing "And may we NEVER... MEET... AGAIN..."

The reason I'm posting is that I feel I'm toying with things I don't understand well enough. I want to make sure I'm not allowing some negative entity to infiltrate my mind.

Could anyone offer some insight into what is going on here? Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Hi!
I don't think anything's wrong. this is meant to happen.. I think it's the meditation itself giving inner wounds or anything else that causes imbalances in your energy a voice. trying to bring your attention to them. what really hurts inside, what our fears are, what aspect of the self/creator are we not accepting, etc.

I don't think it's a negative greeting, but it is mysterious.

I certainly have heard a number of voices during meditation. One said, "Welcome Kristina". Another said, " Thank you for being here everyone" during a group meditation". Before I meditate I have made a practice of making a sacred space for myself followed up with a prayer and a request for the Archangels to stand in protection at all four directions. Once I am through meditating I close my space and thank the angels for accompanying me on my journey and tell them they can now leave that I feel safe and protected. Now, this is a personal thing I do as one time I entered a meditation and felt frightened. I never want to meditate and feel frightened and I want to continue the practice. I have practiced a little magic in the past and know a little about creating a sacred space and then closing it. I have no idea if this will help you or not but I certainly would like to wish you the very best and the safest of all journeys during any spiritual practice you partake in.
Love and light,
Kristina

Sometimes the same symptoms are linked to these factors:

Quote:Auditory hallucinations have been known to manifest as a result of intense stress, sleep deprivation, drug use, and errors in development of proper psychological processes. Genetic correlation has been identified with auditory hallucinations, but most work with non-psychotic causes of auditory hallucinations is still ongoing.

High caffeine consumption has been linked to an increase in the likelihood of experiencing auditory hallucinations. A study conducted by the La Trobe University School of Psychological Sciences revealed that as few as five cups of coffee a day could trigger the phenomenon. (Wiki)

Nick, you might find this interesting.

http://www.theisticpsychology.org/books/w.vandusen/presence_spirits.htm

It's written by a psychiatrist who was also a Swedenborgian. He wanted to compare the voices his hospitalized patients heard with the things Emanuel Swedenborg wrote about.

The text suggests that you are tuning into lower level astral distractions. It looks like you are standing at a portal and its up to you to decide which way to go.

My suggestion is that you cultivate a deep sense of knowing to which you can turn when you are unsure of your own motivation. How to do that is a good question to ask yourself, and so begin the process.
