I have a question I couldn't find an answer to.
One person I personally knows advises me to pray to Mary as Mary is an intercessor to Jesus. He also goes around asking for prayer requests and acts as an intercessor and believes strongly in intercession.
How should prayers go by in regard of the Law of One?

This may be just my view, and please only consider it as such, but do not all prayers go to the One Infinite Creator? I do not see an intercessor as necessary in any way, although it would not be an obstruction either. I would suggest that purity of intent and faith are the most important qualities of prayer when such a heavy veil is in place. You could pray to the one known as Jesus, Buddha, yourSelf, nothing whatsoever, or even a tree. What matters is what you intend to create for yourself and how much faith you have in yourSelf to accomplish this. After all, YOU are the ONE Infinite Creator and YOU CREATE your own reality. As the one known as Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is within."

Hi Carrie! What a great question! I have had to personally rethink my views about prayer over the years.
Your friend is praying in the way that is in alignment with his religious views. Since the Law of One is not a religion, there are no rules about prayer. You can feel free to pray or meditate in whichever way is comfortable to you.
In my own personal experience, I continued to pray in the way I had been taught when I was a child, for some time after my beliefs no longer matched that religion. I found great comfort in that form of prayer at the time. Then, over time, I just sort of naturally changed.
Now, if I am among Christian friends, I feel totally comfortable praying with them. While they are praying to Jesus (or to Mary, as the case may be), I pray in my own way alongside them. The love and intention are what's important.
A few years ago, I asked Carla this very question. I wondered how she reconciled her Christianity, including worshiping at a Christian church, with her mysticism. She had some wonderful comments and suggestions!
I don't want to speak for her, but I will pass your question on to her.
For now, I would say, do whatever you are comfortable with. In my opinion, prayer is really a method to connect with our Higher Selves, and to focus our free will. It's not the only method.

I agree that an intercessor isn't necessary. But I think your friend praying to Mary is really an effort to connect with the archetype symbolized by Mary in his particular faith.
Religions most definitely access the archetypes. All the characters in the Bible and other religious books are, in my opinion, depictions of the archetypes. So I see prayer to Mary as a focusing on 'Goddess' or 'Mother' aspect of the One Infinite Creator.

thanks for bringing up the topic. u always seem to bring up something
very timely and i always enjoy reading your posts. i think a lot of it
depends on how you feel about Mary. if you feel drawn to her and
feel that she is your friend and cares about your welfare then by
all means go ahead and pray to her.
a lot of that depends about how u feel about christianity. me personally
i respect and admire Mary a lot and i do believe that she is part of the
hierarchy of heaven. to me personally when you pray to her you are taking
the fast track to the creator. i would liken it to the difference in
dropping a letter in the mailbox and sending it express mail. praying to Mary
brings her particular office in heaven into the affair imho. i just want to relate an experience i had personally. i had read something similar to
what your friend had told you in a book. the book said that if you have
a particular situation that just wont change pray to mary and she
will intercede for you before the throne of God. we had a family
situation that just wouldnt seem to change. so i prayed to mary
over this asking for her intercession and within a month it cleared up.
pretty cool no.! again Carrie it really depends on how u feel about it.
if you feel an affinity to Mary then by all means use that follow you
heart and not what someone tells you.

I interpret this to mean that there are two principles we can use.
First, we can evaluate prayer based on the metaphysical, vibration meaning or intention behind the ritual.
Second, we can observe that if that meaning or intentions is repeated with devotional faith, it influences the person praying at a subconscious level.
Your friend seeks that all problems may be brought before the representative, in his understanding, of the ultimate expression fulfilling divine compassion for all of mankind. He seeks that the way this happens is that we turn to the maternal nature of unconditional love, and ask her to bring that compassion into every situation or person that needs healing and balance.
What would be the effect of remaining in that attitude, with or without words? It would be to inspire a subconscious connection with infinite love, harmonizing, nurturing, bringing solace and powerful transmutation of all catalyst into divine light.
He would probably agree with such a description of the meaning and purpose of his intercession.
Surely that is a goal that could be honored by a student of the Law of One. He might even be glad to know that other people share those goals.
As far as he knows inside his own mind, the outward form, the symbol, structure or pattern demonstrating this devotion, is to concentrate the mind on the live of service, the acts of miraculous intervention and generosity of spirit, that we can see in the stories we have about Jesus and his mother.
The very same devotion might inspire a devout Hindu to pray to Krishna and Radha.
Notice Ra's phrase: "...has been transmuted into metaphysical nourishment in what this distortion of expression calls the holy communion." This does not address whether the Catholic doctrine of transubstantiation is literally true. It does address the heartfelt desire to experience a merger with the divine while still in this life.
If it was my friend, I would say, "My religious tradition does not emphasize the importance of Jesus and Mary in the same way as yours does. But I would be honored to join you in taking my concerns to them, so that God's love may be brought into every situation." I would say the same thing if invited to join in petitions to Radha to intercede with Krishna.
I am always happy to have anyone use whatever they believe about religious faith, spiritual truth, good vibes, or just nice happy thoughts. As long as their premise seems to symbolize a service to others attitude. If they are willing to merge those concepts with a loving concern about me, I see that as positive for both them and me. Will it have an outcome on my physical life? I don't know.

In it, he talks about how the native Americans pray (and way more than that). They pray with their hearts, and feeling. If they want rain, they hold the feeling of what raining would be like. Goes back to the Law of Attraction, though I like how he tells it. Plus the energy of the video, scenery, and him are all good. I love the quote he says "because we're always feeling something, life becomes the living prayer"
