This is the first in a series of paintings I'm working on as part of my therapy. It's called "The Price of Flight". It documents a journey through trauma-based mind control. It is the shattering of the identity that transforms the subject, that enables flight above the crippling pain. There is no way to run; one can only fly higher and higher, plunge deeper and deeper...until every reflection is a gateway. Sorry if anyone finds it disturbing. It is meant to be an expression of inner pain, not a depiction of violence.

There are things I can't talk about. Things that are too dark, too painful, too unpleasant to others. Parts of my heart and mind sequestered off and hidden out of sight for decades, and now that I'm finding them I don't know what to do with them, except put a brush to paper. Darkness is nothing to be ashamed of. It is the foundation of progress. Darkness makes good art. It seems that even though some of the pictures look disturbing they have a good sense of symmetry which may indicate that you have a strong sense of balance nevertheless. Nice pictures. Keep them coming.
