There is two parts to there, first initially service to others path logically one would assume would start by doing good deeds for others not moreso on working on oneself which perhaps would come later. However quote talks on why this may not be.. eg "healing yourself that you heal the world"

The key distinction being association, having an understanding of the concept helps unravel and paint a clearer picture of Service to others.. That reorientation from only associating with the illusory husks of this illusion and other selfs, to more associating with the heart of all serves. True service comes from connecting with the heart. Further discussion to makes note that when one is worrying, comfort can be offered but as the energy of worrying is tangled its hard for that to reach through to be of assistance. Yes it can be a habit but if something is of concern there's far better solution offered!
