RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Observer - 03-29-2012 Why not do both? ![]() RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Shin'Ar - 03-29-2012 (03-29-2012, 08:54 AM)Observer Wrote: Why not do both? Is that another excuse? lol. Of course we all need some r and r once in awhile. This is in response to those that feel they have nothing more to offer and are caught in some sort of wait and see trap. Not at all my friend. I seem to have real difficulties communicating my intentions properly these days. ![]() "Doing" being overrated does not mean that it's not useful. It just means that there is an imbalance in between "doing" and "being". The Earth could use a little more "being" and a little less "doing". All of our societies are mainly built around "doing" nowadays at the expanse of "being". RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Shin'Ar - 03-29-2012 ah yes, I understand what you mean now valtor. yes, doing does not always mean that something is accomplished. Politics being a prime example. RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Aureus - 03-30-2012 Being is doing, yet doing is not being. When you refine your personality and review your actions and weigh them against what you consider to be the highest good - Not only will your future service be more pure but you're expanding the reserves of positive energy available for sharing. When a position of peace, love, understanding and acceptance is found - Your actions will automatically yield your other-selves. If you feel a pressure to 'Do do do', it most likely has its roots in fear. You did not come here to save the whole world or teach everybody about the Law of One. You're here to keep an eye out, and use your love and your wisdom to show the beings around you an alternative to violence, fear and manipulation. That they were not born into a godless world whose destructive fate was certain the moment it came to be. There is always another way. I have read it (actually a few times--I do that with fiction I like). It is a great book. The author has a Macro Society in Arizona where they discuss the concepts, last I knew. I have not checked it out. I read it the first time in the early eighties as a recommendation from a coworker, and I still like it. ![]() (03-30-2012, 01:13 PM)Wander Wrote: Being is doing, yet doing is not being. Actually, I think doing can be being. What I mean is that when you are doing something you are totally present with, it turns into a sort of being, a kind of meditation. One good example is art: when an artist is painting there is a moment when they are so into it that time suspends and the world "goes away." RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Bring4th_Austin - 03-30-2012 The way I have always interpreted doing vs. being, using Diana's artist analogy, is that a person can do art or a person can be an artist. To me, "being" involves commitment to the moment, release of expectation, and purity of intention. RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Aureus - 03-30-2012 If you take action from the heart, then you were heart centered from the start. That's what I meant. In this way, being preceeds doing (the action was a natural result). I did not mean in terms of titles or professions. Those are only labels. RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - kycahi - 03-30-2012 Near as I could tell, right around 25 years after I began my seeking, stimulated by my college freshman Physics professor, I stopped. Although I didn't know everything, I determined that I knew enough. Since then, I have continued to pick stuff up, but not from searching, just from living. This way is more pleasant. ![]() RE: Relentless Seeking, or sit back, and chill? - Avocado - 03-31-2012 I'm leaning more on the relentless seeking side with an ever growing state of being on the other end. I find it difficult to relax but all the doing is making it increasingly clear how I need to be in order to feel well. It's difficult to be helpful when I feel this way so first thing's first, healing the pain inside is my STO. I'll be damned if I don't feel well! I understand it's ok to feel non-pleasurable states but when you haven't relaxed for more than 10 minutes at a time in the past x months feeling well is a reasonable objective. It is a subtle yet powerful catalyst. Feeling my way through it has been beneficial for instance my sensitivity to subtle energies in the body has definitely increased, so despite the difficulty I am entirely grateful and excited where it is taking me. I don't know any specific names but reading of individual awarenesses of energies in the body has increased mine. I sincerely appreciate this and having access to bring4th. ~Avocado |
