"If I knew I should die tomorrow, I would plant a tree today."

I'd go get ice cream and laugh as much as I could with my kids.

What's stopping you from doing this? :¬)

This is ahktu's point, make the most of the time here, rather than putting the things you'd love to do off.

I guess "living in the moment" is a better way of putting it. I can't say which moment in time will be my last in this incarnation, so I try to find the love and the potential in each moment. I could die tomorrow, so why not make today count?

I honestly don't think I'd mind dying while just doing some everyday thing with love. Like admiring the beauty of a sunset, or holding the door open for someone, or even contemplating the spiritual principles behind washing the dishes. I'd be like getting caught in the act, in a good way. Smile

I do get ice cream and laugh. Can't do it every day.

I agree aHktu, I'm okay with dying. If I KNEW it were my last, I'd certainly not do much of the the mundane things.

I know the point of the saying. I was having fun with it.
I'm certainly not planting any trees!

Tongue I know it's a metaphor !

Atleast for me, I don't think there's much more I would do, even if I knew I should die tomorrow. Really. I would even go to school like normal, because it would be "the last chance" to see them (friends) in this reality as they are now. I'm having my band's trainings tomorrow, I would be happy to die after it. BigSmile Don't get me wrong, but I just love music so much, that it would be like "the last wish" I'd use. The only difference tomorrow would be, that I would rock as hard as I can. But I'm trying to do it anyway, so there's not really much more I can do. BigSmile

My point is, everyone should follow their highest excitiment every moment, so there wouldn't be anything else they would want to do. That's what I'm doing. Listening to music atm. BigSmile Loving it <3

Live like u never die doesn't really work well either. How about live with compassion for others in a way that leaves a trail of compassion for generations.

Another replacement phrase :

Pretend you will be dying tonight and consider whether or not you have said all the loving things you want to say to others.
