A wall is great if you want the vr stuff.

The vibration sword techniques that can cut solid rocks in half, is not due to the sword but due to the chi infused into it by the wielder. Even chopsticks or wood can penetrate into solid obkects like hardwood.

Some of the secret societies and asian family lineages still have it but it is a true secret. Likely related to softening of the stone for giza.

Yes, and a blade of grass can penetrate a tree during a hurricane. So all of these things are possible. And though some have kept secrets, one can access this information—with dedication and focus—one's self. Smile

If you recall, Bruce Lee got into trouble with the Chinese here for teaching "secret" arts. It takes a lot of energy to maintain secrecy, like holding back a tide, especially when more and more people are desiring to pierce that secrecy.

I would like in the manner of JCVD in Bloodsport or Kickboxer to have a master in a personal capacity (I am not comfortable learning with others), I prefer to be alone and in this way the learning is better and goes more at the end of the day.

I love those 2 movies. Smile

You can usually get one-on-one training from any MA teacher. Also, I have been looking out for a good martial arts VR game.

However, just learning good katas is great training. I recommend Tiger and Crane. But having a teacher to explain what the moves mean in terms of self-defense is important. Even Tai Chi is self-defense, so in addition to the body moving chi through the proper body mechanics and the breathing, all the moves are based in self-defense.

Tai Chi when understood on the level of a martial art and not just exercise is incredibly powerful, just rarely used that way. We had a guest in class who is a tai chi master and has won multiple world chi sao (sticking hands) championships. His ability to generate force in a small space was something else.

You may find the book The Eight Immortal's Revolving Sword of Pure Yang by Baolin Wu to be an interesting read. He ended up being the guardian and keeper of an ancient "living" sword kept by the White Cloud Monastery and the book exposes one of their esoteric sword practices.

Aion, did you see adam mizner s videos linked above in mine?

Yeah I watched it, it was interesting. I've seen similar videos before of various teachers.

There is an old idea that in a match between grandmasters they only have to look in to each other's eyes to determine who is more powerful, no need to physically fight.

Then you see those videos of apparent qi gong masters getting decked by people highly trained in other more physical disciplines, because ultimately the 'strength' of qi is one thing, but technique of delivery can change things greatly. I also think that willpower is a huge factor. Someone with stronger willpower will be more likely to be able to push through qi with a fist no matter how cultivated the person's qi is. That is why redirection is such a common technique in qi-oriented martial arts, in my opinion.

Of course, unless you're specializing in Iron Shirt or similar qi conditioning techniques.

This video connects the Chinese language, techniques, with a more spiritual and heart centered way of looking at things.

I have more than a passing familiarity with Chinese and Japanese myths and traditions. Thus a lot of the modern Chinese gurus tend to act out the stories of the immortals and cultivators. Cultivators are not martial artists. Cultivators are like Western adepts or magus/wizards.

They act in this role, since it is has to do with face/reputation, and eventually they convince themselves they actually can do the things in the legends. Then they do something unwise like accepting a challenge from MMA people.

One of the interesting connections between Mizner and Joe the guy who reconstructed his spine, is that Mizner had a similar accident and also reconnected his spine using chi/prana/phvrill.

This becomes valuable data for connecting dantiens to chakras, and martial arts Tai Chi Chuan with the heart-indigo chakras.

I'll have to check that out. Reconstructed their spines, eh? What if its only one small area of like two fused vertebrae from an auto immune disorder? How difficult would that be?

Well, that's just it, reality can sometimes smack one in the face.

You might enjoy the works of Bruce Frantzis if you're not familiar, he also repaired his spine after an injury through the Taoist Water Method and was one of the earliest 'legitimate' Western teachers.

Bruce Frantzis has a pretty good youtube channel https://youtube.com/c/EnergyArts

That would be a 2 part operation. The vert fuse would be a reaction to the immune issue.

Elizabeth april talked about fixing her auto immune reynaulds issue.

Often times it is not the bone that fused first but the scar tissue soft tissue. I can usually help with the soft tissue directly using energy work. The bones will chamge over.a far longer time when they feel like it.

Analyzing (poll style) most of the instructors/answerers on Yahoo answers in 2008-10 ish, pretty much 90-95% were 3rd density capped. Meaning, they could not break through into the realm of the heart, the invisible chi. They could circulate it internally, using mechanics, technique, and external movements, but the internal circulation was not understood. This internal circulation of chi, was only at the lower dantien, the lower 3 chakras. It did not connect to the heart, and definitely did not boost the psychic upper dantien, the throat/indigo/crown chakras. It was quite difficult learning about all dantiens, chakra centers, and not being able to communicate or make effective use of other people's perspectives and experiences. First I had to "translate" a lot of concepts. A lot of what I said, would have sounded inane or actually insane or non practical, to most of the people there. They got used to it eventually and stopped getting triggered, but only because one of the more respected people there began to notice I had some deeper knowledge of bio mechanics and was not treating me as a clown. Thus the rest of the crowd sort of followed in, like a herd wolf pack. The majority did not understand me or agree with my methods of "teaching" online, as I focused more on principles and less on practicing a physical movement that was meaningless 1000 times first in a dojo, but I started gaining a "reputation" heh.

There were examples of secret healing societies that utilized these arts, such as the BBC once recorded, but they are mostly mystical fog to those practicing physical refinement and have not graduated the test to the next grade.

The Martial Man does on site interviews and voyages, sorta like a Mugya Shugyo. So Star one, you can still get a hint of the experience even if you can't get to a Shaolin temple ; )

Impressive the calm and fluidity in the movements of this expert. It returns the energy of the enemy to it effortlessly. It seems to have taken root in the earth, moving like water flowing through stones, fire and wind throws the opponent to the ground, it's beautiful to see!
