I still find the idea of another 'half' our 'self' quite intriguing and romantic. I guess that's easy for me to say since I'm married!
2 books that really impressed me on this subject:
The Esoteric Philosophy of Love and Marriage Paperback by Dion Fortune
and a section in Linda Goodman's Love Signs (It was one of the chapters, on a sun sign combination, but I forgot which one...I found it quite profound at the time.)

This was a thread I made in the first month of joining the forum. The twin flame thing has been pretty much on my mind each day since then but I think I'm starting to build some sort of connexion. Or maybe I'm going crazy, I'm always open to that possibility. Dwelling in the Law of Confusion is hard sometimes.

You must be joking. Love Signs is what helped me cut my teeth on astrology! That's the only thing that I've been able to see that mentions the concept of reincarnational astrology. That book is a serious astrological study.

I'm not actually looking for a partner rather unveil my connection with my twin flame. Not sure if I'm connecting to a soul mate or my actual twin flame though, or... my over existent imagination.

Awesome advice. I'm looking for a twin flame or soul mate, but not necessarily in the physical.
It's so hard to decide on what to focus. I also want to penetrate the veil.

The thing with connecting with my twin flame is that as a Gemini I've spent most of my life speaking with myself in my mind so it gets hard to know if I'm speaking to something or to myself.
Sometimes I feel like the voices are hiding things and are toying with me.

I devoured the whole book, even the chapters that didn't apply to me. Chock-full of deep insights!I like Star Signs too, though I didn't agree with some of her conclusions on the word analysis.

I haven't read very many astrology books, but based on what I've read, I agree! Such an enjoyable read, too!
Dion Fortune is heavier reading, and you can tell it's rather dated (a bit of gender stereotyping), but still full of deep insights about sexual energy transfer.

Depends from incarnation to incarnation, as well as surrounding circumstances in the life. some do but may never meet them, others do not and find another person, some have more than one in case the first plans fail, others have a few in more...volatile areas, some never have the chance to have one. It all depends.
I hope I have one. Though I worry I already met one and now its Done. Don't be like me and believe you'll miss her completely, chances are i'm shooting myself in the foot for not being more positive.

I think a soul mate is simply a soul you are very entangled to. Good friends of some sort.
I think I have quite a few soul mates here on this earth.

Min be careful about titles, Soul Mates are souls that are harmonically in tune with you naturally, their nature and yours is complimentary more than anything. While still puzzles with all the pieces, you are also in essence another piece, and you fit them and they fit you better than any other. They are your Literal Mate in other areas. the one you love the most returning to after incarnations, the one you long for, the one you can't forget.
Sort of like memories of them stick with you. Its hard to say what would constitute calling one a Soul Mate, Id like to think its those special others who you dislike not being with enough to feel it across a veil.

Hmm. I just feel like it'd be a muddying up of what we think when we think 'soul mate'. It probably doesn't hurt to see it the way you do though. By definition, a Soul Mate is anyone your soul has and can mate with so. Maybe we think of Soul Mates in terms of only one or a few, not many. At least, that seems like the most common view of soul mates.
I guess I shouldn't tell you to watch yourself, so I'll take my own words as me telling myself as well in a perfect example of me being a hypocrite

I see soul mates as souls I have a very strong connection with beyond the veil.
I see a twin flame as my twin soul with which I first originated.

Another perspective is to recognise a soul mate as anyone we become committed to. To quote from a Tarot teacher "physical reality is spiritual reality thought into form", so from that view point whomever we are in a relationship with is our soul mate. This relationship may or may not last, like Carla's first marriage for example, nethertheless can act as a learning experience or "grist for the mill", to use a term of hers.
In truth we are all one, thus any mate we connect with can become great catalyst in learning the ways of love.
