the PM feature on these forums is great, but it has a way of being inconsistent. It has periods where it works flawlessly, and then at other times it really bugs out and misbehaves (messages don't get sent). It's an issue that goes back a LONG TIME, and seems to be independent of any specific hardware issues that also arise sporadically.

in the meantime, I can only recommend the following measures to save yourself endless heartache and frustration:

    1) always copy your message before hitting the send button (CTRL-C). There's nothing worse than seeing beautifully crafted words that can never be ressurected disappear into the digital ether for all time.

    2) sometimes the server will timeout or give a Internal-500 error after sending. Check the Sent Messages Folder if this happens (check the Sent Messages folder anyway, in fact), and resend.

    3) you will either get a 'duplicate message sent in last 5 min' or an actual double sending of messages. In my eyes, a double send is better than no send any day BigSmile

so until the software is patched, or some config setting adjusted, this seems to be the best approach to take.

what if it shows up as a sent message but there is no reply back. Are there instances where this has occured for anybody else? or should I just assume they got the measage and dont want to carry on a dialogue with me.

In that case spero, it might be worth an attempt to resend, but my guess is if it's in your sent folder it's also in the recipient's inbox.

To all my adoring fans who have been sending me private messages: I don't seem to be receiving any of your pms. My inbox is completely empty. Very strange.
