Eclipse Dec 10th Western US best visibility
Just pointing out there is going to be a very nice eclipse for people in the western hemisphere. The moon will appear near the horizon "super sized" and "bright red" according to the NASA video. Also.. the NASA video kinda pushes you waking up early to see this Saturday morning, lol.

Here is the visibility map for those interested in seeing this at approx 04:45 PST 05:45 MST/Arizona 06:45 CST. Sorry Im not familiar with the international time codes yet.

*Edit: It sates bright red with a hint of turquoise near the beginning of the eclipse.

I'll only get a partial eclipse. Still, I hope to get myself out of bed to see it! Should be quite a show.

Thanks for the info DuncanIdahoTPF!

If you are in the UK I don't think this will be visible. It looks it will only be visible to North / South America and Hawaii
Here is the full website on how this is calculated... Its a bit over my head, so I cant help you read it more easily, lol.

The website itself is very cool... Just not sure how to read it.

Bleh... Well I watched about the first 45 mins of it or so. It was less impressive than advertised by NASA. I saw ZERO coloring, whereas NASA and many other predictions thought it would be very very colorful. I am confused to as why this is.

Any theories?

It was dependent upon the atmospheric conditions of your location, which filters the visible spectrum of light from space.

What are those objects floating around that you can see if you click the thumbnail of the second pic or in the gallery I linked?? They arent moving I dont think, or they would just appear as a line/blur across the image?
