Been a while since I've posted much on here...but I wanted to share a piece on thinking that I amused myself with, and hope you enjoy Smile

    On Thinking

Let me tell you about what I think.

I’ve been thinking a lot about thinking, and I think that my thoughts are not my own.

They come and go as they please, flittering through my mind throughout the day, and I take the time to acknowledge and entertain each one before I throw the thought away.

Yes, I tell you, these thoughts are not ours! They are property of a realm we can’t think of on our own.

We can roam the desolate landscape of our minds, cry out in grief and despair, and then, just as we have become settled with one idea, BAM, out of nowhere, a thought comes about that shatters what we thought before.

How did this thought come about? I had been thinking just fine about a minute before? Had it been there all along? Or did it suddenly wash upon the shore?
I think, therefore I am. I think, therefore I am? If my thoughts are not mine, but yet I think and I am, where does that bring me to?
It means that I am me, and I am you.

The thoughts that stream before us are part of a greater whole of knowledge. They do not belong to anyone, yet they can be expressed uniquely just the same. It’s the reason we have art, math, writing, and fame. It’s the reason that we get into fights, or get along with a friend. It’s the reason we can end a life, or find a heart to mend.

Each person can take a thought and put it into the vision of what they see. Since they experience a different reality, it can be seen differently. But the thoughts are not what are changing, they are not what’s good or bad. The perspective that you put on them is what drives us to feel glad, or sad, or mad.
Take each thought, and entertain them, but bring this perspective into view. You are not these thoughts, yet these thoughts are wholly you.
