    Hello Dear Sabou,

In your second link it is said:

Quote:NASA has some big news to announce about other Earth-like planets in the Milky Way at a news conference scheduled for 9 a.m. PST on Thursday.

I personally do not expect it to be anything really “BiG” – as We understand it here, on this Forum.
It is my impression, that this “announcement” is a form of NASA promotion, rather than revealing information, that would have any, actual influence on Our lives.

Of course, I would like to be wrong. As always, time will tell.

i would have to agree on the statement I higlighted in your reply, I also had similiar thoughts about it being sensationalized.

Still curious to see what they say, I won't hold my breath

The live stream is on now on the first link I posted

So it was announced that Kepler 452b, a new exo planet was found that shows the closest similarity to Earth in regards to its relationship with its Sun. This is what everyone pretty much assumed would be the announcement. Kepler 452b is possibly rocky and orbits a G star like our sun and has been in the habitable zone for about 6 billion years, which is older than the age of our Earth.
