What I remember from birthing my twins is to breath through the pain and the contractions felt like earthquakes within my beingness... I liken giving birth to breathing life into being. A Doula is essential for births that are sacred and loving. A go-between to keep the birthing mother calm and attend to her wishes and needs and to keep those who are not in tune away from her during the travail (the work of birthing).
We are the Doulas. If we do our job we intend for Weather Reduction, encouragement, and getting others out the way of the contractions. We calm and whisper Loving words full of joy to her... this is the Work of the Doula. fairyfarmgirl
