Giving thanks throughout the day

I saw this mentioned in another thread and it really struck something in me so I'd like to concentrate on giving thanks and showing gratitude for all things


"We may note that the instrument has remained centered upon the Creator at a percentage exceeding ninety. This is the key. Continue in thanksgiving and gratitude for all things."


Continue in thanksgiving and gratitude but how exactly? Is this consciously thanking every thing one sees and every experience one has or is it more showing an appreciation and looking at it with the eyes of a child so to speak? 

How do you show gratitude for everything and give thanks throughout the day?

Just a quick thought. Since this quote is specifically about Carla, and generally about a helpful attitude, it made me think about a quote that one of our transcribers highlighted after sending in a transcript for "In the Now" from Carla. It might help shed some light on the attitude Ra was talking about.

This is in regards to Carla losing her eyesight near the end of her incarnation.

But there is a larger point of view and it is helpful, and spirit is ever ready to offer you. That is something I cannot say with enough joy. I remember recently I had a difficult day. I have had trouble with my eyes recently and it has gotten gradually worse and I kept asking for a larger text on my Kindle. Got the largest one it had and eventually couldn't see it sometimes. I couldn’t read recipes and magazines, which absolutely kills my soul. I love to collect recipes that sound interesting and see what it would taste like. Couldn't see it; couldn't read my part in morning offering, the book that I was reading. We read different texts in morning offering; we read the Bible, we read the Law of One, but then Jim reads something, I read something, I sing, we pray and we meditate, we start off with meditation. It's a lovely ritual that we go through to start our day and it really does jump start the day and I couldn't read my part. It was very frustrating and I still hadn't gotten to the limit. I reached it at lunchtime when Jim asked me to order a pizza. I tried to look up the phone number. I didn't get the phone number right; I was helpless. I wanted pizza and it was so far beyond me. Then I tried to call Jim; I couldn't see the dial on the telephone. Oh, boy! I hit bottom. I really did. And I was spiraling down, I saw myself doing it and I don't like to do that. I don't like to invest any time or energy in feeling sorry for myself or in - dare we say - kicking against the pricks. I've always wondered about that. And then I remembered to dolly back; pull that camera that I'm looking through the lens of to see reality back, back, back. And I realized, thanks to my beloved Holy Spirit whom I call Holly, there wasn't a problem; this was what the Creator had given me for that moment. It had gifts in its pockets and I needed to spend the time probing those gifts, gently opening them, carefully putting the wrapping to one side and seeing what I had. "How can I use this?" And meanwhile I had to remember that all is well and all will be well is the fundamental truth of my own balance. I believe it without question. It has seen me through any number of disasters and catastrophes and it will see me through this one.

Gratitude is a state of being where you focus on what you have in the moment (everything you need and then some), not what you lack. It is also appreciation that all of these energies have coalesced into this one moment of time that is perfect for your being as an expression of the Creator. It means appreciating the lack, and appreciating even those who challenge you throughout the day and throw you off your center. It's recognizing that there is joy and the Creator in every expression that you witness, even those that appear otherwise.

I think this state of being (constant gratitude) can also be translated to "faith" - at least, that's what I think Carla is talking about in the quote.

So I guess I'm overthinking then eh? This gratitude and thanks one shows is for experiences themselves rather than every little thing one sees or thinks about?

That seems a little more doable lol. I kept thinking wow that's a lot of thanking and conscious recognition of what's around one at any given moment.

I use the small little things.  Like my clothes are comfy, thank God for that.  I have a bed I can always look forward to, thank God for that.  I have beautiful mountains in every direction, thank God for that.

My throat is sore and I'm coughing and sneezing, thank God for the funny relief of a sneeze or the clearance feeling of a cough.

I even thank for things I hate and here's why.  I hate because I don't understand at all.  I thank God for horror, because if not for it I would be blind to the reality of how perfectly fine and dandy my life is (relatively but meh) and how seriously cruel and distorted this realm can turn one.

Hatred is a form of Love I've opted to explore and have found it to be adequate to push, but poor to pull.  It is love of a furious nature, and it is not fiery but explosive.   It can push with great force but it has poor retraction, others move away from anger naturally because its an energy akin to sending love, but of an undesired nature, Love can be explosive, or fluid, or torrential, or fluttery.  Hate lacks the finesse and gentleness (or if its gentle, the calmness).

So thank your emotional state.  Thank.your own life and being.  Thank you, Jeremy, for Being here today, for offering me catalyst, for offering your views and thoughts and words and actions.  Thank you for the placement you're in to be of aid to others.

Being thankful isn't tricky, its just one of those egotistical areas where we must stop accepting things for granted.  Thank you Sun for your light and love, thank you Moon for your revolution around I.  Thank you space for the 'room' to orbit within infinitely on every scale.  Thank you time for offering the perception of before and after.  Thank you energy for various reasons, thank you vibrations for various (and winky) reasons, thank you frequency for being so beautiful in tones.

Thanks 3D, and my neighbor who... well its complicated, thanks guy for being a jerk to my property.  Thanks 3D for the lessons.  Even though I've chosen Neutrality over playing the thankful-for-but-viewed-nonetheless-as-mad game of Polarity, there's more to life than Service To Entities, there's thanks for absence and thanks for presence and forgiveness and thanks for the entirety of the whole, even if I desire to destroy it now and then, the thanks lies in the truth That I am here to learn about many things.  I am...Inexperienced maybe.  Unwise.  Too caring.  Too thoughtful, too attached, I am...

Right where I should be, exploring Hellish sides of my reality through myself, by choice.  As a Monster and a Lover, a horror and a blessing.

Everything and Nothing, and I'm grateful for the experience, just.

Put off by it very often too.  I didn't think...such depths of horror were.

Its rough but...I put myself here.  I'm tired of it, so I'm ready to do whatever it is I'm here to do, without Polarity interference (mental-emotional/intentionally) or intellectual insanity..
