Question: How to prove to yourself you're you.

I had this thought and I think its a great question to ask and consider to one's self.

If you met yourself, how would you prove to yourself you're you and not someone fake or an illusion or a doppelganger?

Spiritually speaking, imagine this as me looking for ways to ascertain if I'm speaking to myself through myself, or if I am myself at all levels.

How would I prove to myself that I am me?

If it helps, imagine a time traveler who is you comes back to meet you. How do you know its you and not a fake? What do you do or say?

Well first off who are you?

Gaze within a mirror. See the Creator.

What makes you "you"?

You are a focused point of consciousness collecting experiences. With these experiences you craft a persona with which to interact with the world. If you met "you" from the future, would they be you? They would embody a different focus of consciousness shaped by different experiences. Aside from these incarnate personas, what separates "you" from "not you"? The question becomes meaningless with a wide enough perspective.

I don't need proof, I need valuable content making the interaction worthwhile.

These are true enough.

I was thinking more along the lines of fiction but thought it'd be an interesting spiritual question.

I figured if I met myself, say, me a day later, I wouldn't know how to know if this day older me is actually me.

It'd be as far as my physicality goes, unable to tell if the day older me was me or not.
What if he can't remember how he came back in time? How does he prove he's I and I'm he?

Think I'd have to face up to the obvious distortions and blockages present in the face of more fine tuned instrument that should be theoretically 'future' self

I'm not sure how well you guys know yourself but if I met myself all I'd have to do is glance in the eyes. Then he'd grin and I'd grin and we'd break in to hysterical laughter. I would know because I know how I would respond to myself, so itd be quick and easy to see if my character was off.

Alternatively, work out a secret handshake you can use with yourself.

If my other self started trying to convince me they were me that would be the red flag to know they are not.

When I was a kid I had a guy tell me and my brother that he was God. I kept telling him that he was not.

Not sure if he knew about Creator and we are all God, or if he was just crazy.

Drink a pint of beer and a sing a song, if it echos you are not you but the reflection of that and you will need to use a crystal to heal your energy centers to become you again.
