    Why do we do this?
Laziness. The path of least resistance.

That simple huh. It sometimes boggles my mind how often I choose this path when putting in even the slightest bit of effort would reward me greatly. Any advice for how to overcome this?
Develop the will. "The Act of Will" by Roberto Assagioli. Incidentally, he was credited with coining the term "Higher Self" which is used throughout the Ra Material.

"There is no experience which is not purchased by effort of some kind, no act of service to self or others which does not bear a price, to the entity manifesting, commensurate with its purity. All things in manifestation may be seen in one way or another to be offering themselves in order that transformations may take place upon the level appropriate to the action."

"Acceptance of self, forgiveness of self, and the direction of the will; this is the path towards the disciplined personality. Your faculty of will is that which is powerful within you as co-Creator. You cannot ascribe to this faculty too much importance. Thus it must be carefully used and directed in service to others for those upon the positively oriented path."

I suppose this is paramount to transforming ones life. Thank you for the book recommendation.

FL - find something you're passionate about. It's as simple as that.

I would say that means you have stopped looking aha or, you are looking in the same places and need to start looking somewhere fresh. Or abandon the whole idea and sit in your dispassion and come to let that dispassion becomes as intense and big as possible so you can fully and really feel it.

    Passion is amplified excitement.

If one can't find *anything* on this entire planet that excites, even slightly (as these 'hints' lead to greater excitement), then one must put considerable effort into self reflection/contemplation as to the core of the belief that states this world/experience offers nothing.

I do believe this experience has a lot to offer, but nothing that -truly- excites me.

So, it is an idea which excites you? Do you feel you would, at this point, have the qualifications for spacecraft work? Aha

What about the idea of working on a spacecraft excites you?

Apparently the idea tends to excite me for about five minutes. Well, just like any other idea I've ever had. Never mind. Sorry for derailing another thread.

It's possible this whole thing is about some deeper psychological issue, e.g., understanding who we are, what we've learned/believe about self; how we've interpreted successes, challenges, & life barriers; how those things affect what we're doing now (or not doing); basically, the whole process of self-understanding & acceptance/forgiveness. I say this bc I've done 'career counseling' and 'find your excitement' type stuff and it usually leads back to the whole 'who am I/what's the purpose' kind issue. Being lost or stuck can be a springboard when opportunity is taken for healing, esp understanding self.

I would like to know if you would like to share, I think it is relevant, personally. Smile

No, as it's clearly not a 'good' time or place for me to share personal matters.
    Thanks for asking though.

That's fair, no pressure! Aha I am just curious.
