    Ra instructs Don to expel breath over Carla (and other things) during psychic attacks... the "breath of righteousness."

    What is the breath?

    Does Ra provide more information on the importance and use of breath?

    Is it used for any other purpose than taking out psychic attacks, cleansing, and healing?

    Obviously, breathing is an essential part of life that keeps us alive, and we tend to stop breathing when we are stressed (remember to breath!).

    I've seen the breath used in many cultures - in greeting/sharing energy with other self... to transfer information/wisdom/spiritual power from master to student... I've seen 'exorcists' use it during exorcisms... mindful breathing is important in meditation... some creation stories has the creator god breath life into humans... etc., etc.,.

    Breathing consciously or subconsciously sets the energetic rhythm and takes cues from it for both the self and for the local environment. It's a way to distribute information.

    The breath is consciousness in motion, the vital life-force which is intelligent energy, or prana, psi, qui, chi, ki, fohat, nwyfre, etc; the active/kinetic/dynamic principle of Creation (i.e. the focusing of Intelligent Infinity or infinite potential into potentiated motion/rotation/vibration: the torsion field or sonic vortex that is the Logos—or the "Word" of God, the "Breath of Life"—as well as any other subsequent sub-foci of consciousness within Creation).

    Energy

    Breath is fundamental to absolutely every form of energy work, because it sets the rhythm and creates the consistent flow throughout the body. Such is why breathing exercises are often the first form of meditation taught, because once the breath can be made steady, stable and consistent then it makes every advanced technique that much easier to work with.

    Quite simply "breath" is another word often used by mystics to denote "the essence of life". Even if you look at Christian ideas it all started with God "breathing" life in to the form of Adam.

    In Brahmanic concepts, Nada-Brahma means "sound-creator", and the fundamental sound of the universe is supposed to be the "breath" or the primal rhythm, flux and flow of the universe itself which is the stimulating force behind all animation, and thus all life.

    Also, "breathing prana/chi/ki/etc" is also a very common idea, as the idea that we do not just breath with our lungs the physical air around us, but we also breath in energy in to all of our chakra centers (for those who don't know, the chakras are actually vortexes through which prana/ki/chi or breath is cycled and used to energize the body), thus if the breath is imbalanced, likely so are the chakras. That being said, there are chakra centers all over us, and indeed every single cell has its own chakra by which it absorbs prana, so to my understanding learning to "breath prana with your whole body" is part of the concept behind breatharians, in that they absorb enough environmental energy to be able to subsist on the chemicals absorbed from the air.

    A while ago I asked another channeler why is it that when I breathe slow when I meditate I get into a much deeper meditation. The answer I got back was that breathing slower allowed me to get more nonphysical energy to me. But just yesterday night I looked up why breathing fast boosts your heart rate. It is because your body cant take in that oxygen as efficiently and you heart has to compensate to push the oxygen that is there, out to the body. So the opposite happens you breathe slow = heart rate goes down. It doesnt have to work so hard. Breathing slow efficiently oxygenates the body. So you can see the correlation between chi energy and breathe. Breathing super slow relaxes me very well and i get a much better meditation. I Do breathing exercises before meditation to make breathing slow easier.

    In that regard what is important in this case is RHYTHM, because when there is a steady rhythm/frequency then energy is able to build up and expand. When the rhythm of the breath is broken, much is lost. This rhythm thus relates to the heartbeat.

    Also, full breathing is important, which is about 80% fullness of lungs in each breath.

    What happens when oxygen is added to fire? Air coming in to the body does the same thing to the fire of the heart and the body, and breathing is a fundamental practice for those learning to develop the "inner heat" known in yoga.

    In a way, the breath is the second primary rhythm in the body, after the heartbeat. As you meditate your breath gets more subtle, the breath which also corresponds to "The Word", or Logos, and thus when the breath is made steady, still and subtle, the vibrations of the body unite and the body becomes a resonant sound chamber, amplifying the radiant vibrations and sounds of the heart and heart-beat. Thus, in the heart-beat is seen the Creator, and in the Breath lies the Logos.

    More detail on the cleansing/healing or I guess the yellow ray occurrences during the act of breathing, its analogous.

    Not sure if it's 100% proven but I think its widley accepted that breathing, espically deep and/or meaningful breathing stimulates the lymph system and acts like a pump. So breath is huge for eliminating internal waste, toxins and invaders.

    There is a couple search hits for "lymph", Jim got bit by a spider and they had a discussion about it. It was interesting to read again but it didn't connect up with breath/breathing.

    I noticed that by breathing slowly and deeply with conscious intention, it's possible to slow down psychological time... not meditating in a traditional sense but, say, just talking to somebody and getting into that "zone." Things look like they're in slow motion.

    Funny a thread about breathing pops up when I have been bombarded with "breathing" catalyst throughout the week, also funny you make the connection with rhythm Eternal as I just bought a drum kit and have been practising on that for the past week. Have also been noticing much more physically through feeling rather then moods if I'am in synch or in rhythm.

    Going to try to consciously keep my breathing in rhythm and see what difference it makes.

    Rie for the longest time I felt no one has noticed that breathing slow during meditation will slow down the perception of time extremely effectively I had dicoverd that on my own a few years back. Its incredible isn't it? The slower you breathe the slower time slows down. Wich is why i breathe super slow during meditation. It is pretty uncomfortable but is incredible and problems fade much quicker. Im almost barely breathing thats how slow I breathe and only though my nose, try it!

    The breath symbolizes and puts into effect the perception of the natural rhythm/heart beat of the One Infinite Creator. It is similar to intelligent energy which is the life force that beats outward from the Logos and nourishes, changes, and moves all things.

    Interesting -- your comment on "remember to breathe" when you're stressed.
    I teach the Butyeko breathing technique, and I know that stress can cause hyperventilation, which makes you feel more stressed -- anxiety increases ready for fight or flight. pausing after the outbreath, before the next inbreath counteracts this and can bring a calm feeling of being completely able to cope easily. so, what I'm saying is that temporary halt in breathing can be a very good and relaxing act, which can come instinctively. I highly recommend pause breathing for working through a stressful situation.

    In hungarian, "lélek" is the soul, and "lélegzet" (lélek-zet) is the breath. Awesome little "hint" regarding this.
    Same goes with "világ" (world) and "világosság" as light (light-ness). Or Anya (mother) and Anyag (matter).

    I know it is slightly off-topic, but it is cool anyway Tongue

    As soon as you notice rapid breathing, mouth breathing or gasping, then relaxing into a pause between out and in breaths is helpful.

    I think breath is as important as the sun as far as the Ra material is involved.

    The rising and falling, taking and giving, of breath can teach us much. Everytime I have learned meditation, it starts by focusing on the breath. You are taking all that is near IN and letting all that is within OUT!
