I see that all the moderators are on Facebook. And the archetype guy JustLikeYou. I haven't "friended" them but do "follow" the L/L Research page which Gary and Austin communicate through via Quo quotes.
Btw, instead of "friending" people there is a setting for another option to "follow" rather than "friend". I've set up my page for people either to follow or friend.
"Friending" can be a hassle because you might want to be friends with someone and not have their 200+ friends know you and then they start "friending" you without even making an introduction. It's a bizarre intention to not actually say hello and say why you want to friend a person. That's why a "follow" option is sometimes better.
And also the shy thing can be somewhat addressed with a less intrusive follow.
