The Spiritual Use of Entheogens

Unfortunately I can't use entheogens anymore. I'll have what little spiritual experiences I can have while alive, and then learn what I was missing after death. Schizophrenia can do that.

I'm not sure whether these are appropriate questions, but if you don't mind my asking, how does your schizophrenia play out when it is uninhibited and what led to it manifesting? More relevantly, what happens to your mind when you've ingested entheogens after developing schizophrenia, or did psychedelics/entheogens actually contribute to your developing schizophrenia? I'm very interested in schizophrenia and acknowledge the very thin line which divides schizophrenic mindstates and shamanic or enlightened states of mind/being, the former being "undirected" and the latter being a disorder "under control", and to be fairly honest if I were to completely consolidate my spiritual journey, experiences, perspectives and states of mind and boil them down to two words, it would probably be "calculated insanity". Is there moreso resonance or friction when you approach "enlightenment" from a schizophrenic state of mind?
