There are a couple of things I feel compelled to express here, (partially because I am so nervous to speak in front of so many people). Actually, it's more of a disclaimer than anything. I have some sort of speach impediment or SOME kind of verbal communication problem. When I have time to sit down and write out a post such as this, it becomes difficult or impossible to notice this; hence why I love using this medium. Among the many things I feel I have "fixed" about my life is accepting this annoying yet ultimately irrelevant handicap.
I also am dreadfully bad at small talk, which usually results in me being seeming to be all quiet, awkward and/or brooding. Yet when someone says something that I find extraordinarily interesting, I suddenly find my voice. So apologies if I seem to eavesdrop on everyone and abruptly jump in to your conversation. Or apologies if you, say, compliment me on my tattoos as a conversation starter and I just sort of respond with monosyllable answers.
But above all I wish to express what a joy it is to share these few days with everyone, even if I feel sort of awkward around groups of people. I love all of you, present at homecoming or otherwise.
