A whole region rose in anger at the death of the man, who braved the most violent and frightening of odds to protect a community of terrorized women, who were raped on purpose before their family members. However, the example of the man only tells us that violence is never the answer to violence. Only principled resistance based on non-violent and dignified behavior can bring change, when even all hopes are lost. My tributes to Biswas.
