Questioner, I apologize for my ignorance, I have no idea what that means. : )
GLB
I apologize, Gary, I used some software engineering jargon without explaining what I meant.
Design documentation is all of the information about what computer software is supposed to do, how it works, how it is organized, what functionality is available, etc.
Code release is the publication of all of the source code files, in a computer programming language, necessary to build software using software development tools.
With the source code available, any programmer can see how the program works. If they like, other programmers can download their own copy, then make changes to create their own versions of the software.
Usually, the license with the release of source code says that if people make their own version, they need to make clear that it is their own modified version; they need to make their modified source code available; and they need to make sure that people can get the original version of the source code.
Carrie has already used several threads here to explore her design decisions and to start publishing her source code.
So, what I meant was: Does it make a difference if Carrie's design decisions and computer code are released through this website, rather than from some other distribution point?
And, with your comment...
Quote:Permission has already been granted to Carrie provided that Carrie meets a few basic, non-monetary stipulations.that's probably all irrelevant anyway. No problem. I think that Carrie's approach brings a fresh way of thinking about the Law of One material and I'm glad that she has official permission for the project.
