I vaguely recall a dream from last night:
I'm driving around some city. I see a poor (seemingly homeless) elderly man with his adult daughter. They are at the side of the road hitchhiking. I stop and ask them where they are going. They are going to some city 3 hours away. I was planning on going to my house which is in the same direction, 30 minutes toward their location (2.5 hours from their destination). Although I didn't have anything pressing to do that day, in my dream I thought it would be "weird" to take them all the way. I compromise and I tell them I can take them to the edge of the city, which is 1 hour away (hence past my destination and 2 hours from their destination)... then the dream ended...or at least I don't remember the rest.
Afterthoughts: Maybe I should have offered to take them the entire way.This service to others thing in its purest form is harder to incorporate than it seems.
