I believe what Ra was explaining was not the physical destruction - souls are eternal in nature - but rather the knowledge of this had been hidden from them through the cunning use of the 'deathfear' protocol.
If an entity is not aware of the existance of the spirit realm (nirvana) they will be left for ages in a state of 'shock' or (seemingly) never ending fear.
This is where the human concept of 'hell' comes from and forms the prime mover in the Luciferian Family.
