Some channels put forth the idea that it isn't necessarily the "aliens" that do this, but rather the subconscious will of the mass consciousness of humanity expressing itself, with the help of various alien as well as inner plane consciousnesses.

Jung, Vallée, and later Ra, had suggested this same thing for much of the UFO phenomena. Although the mechanics would seem to be a mystery.
