Ra only replies accordingly, not to infringe our free will.
Therefore, he answers "I fear" and shows discomfort by saying "this shall be the last question". Can you see that!
I feel like the idea that the question was fear based is a subjective opinion of the reader. In my own eyes, the question was strictly fact-based, as was the answer.
The magnetic pole is shifting, it's an established and accepted scientific fact, and very possibly what Ra was referring to. The smaller catastrophes Q'uo speaks of are happening.
It's my opinion that this isn't a matter of "this is what's going to happen," but rather "this is what's happening." I think the question up for debate is whether the rotational axis will follow the magnetic poles, which we can't be sure which Don and Ra were referring to.
