So true. The fear of survival is a driving—conscious and unconscious—force in humanity. Most people in this world live in threatened circumstances continually (paycheck to paycheck, no job security, government corruption, separation between the advantaged wealthy and the rest of the population).
To address the symptoms of the problem is to extend kindness and compassion to those who live in such fear. But as you point out, the underlying paradigm is what really needs shifting. And yet, without some relief from struggle I think it will be difficult to bring this about for most people.
