Wow that was quite brave of you!
I had a similar situation some weeks ago, I was walking by the pavement and there was a little bird sitting.... I really did not know what to do so I did nothing. Then afterwards I wondered "was that ok"
Later however someone said it was the right thing to do because when a little bird falls out of the nest we should leave them there so the mum can find him...
I still don't know.
I think those situations are like with the beggars - one is never sure to give them money (what if they only use it for drugs and alcohol?) and one does not feel good if not giving them money...
my friends brother who worked with homeless said never give them money because they should go to the official shelters and take the offerings there.
Again I don't know if there is a "one fits all" solution. I go with whatever feels right in the moment.... or sometimes if unsure, with what feels "less wrong" haha
So to quote Ra - this density is not of knowing.
Om shanti shanti om, today I leave you in the peace and loving understanding of not knowing
