By what you are describing, you are in the State, (between Realities). Neither awake, nor asleep. I know it well. The Mind wants to become conscious, yet the body wants to continue to rest. And so the Mind creates illusions and conversations, (within itself), and it is transitioning between Alpha and Beta brainwaves. It is actually a Higher Consciousness State. Not Meditation, (in the Meditation sense), but bordering on the borderline between Intellectual and Intuitive Mind. At that point you can become Intellectual and think on a gross conscious level, or become Intuitive, and allowing the Mind to think objectively and positively as the State of deeper thinking. You can also experience the "Waking Dream", where you are actually controlling the narrative. You decide what happens in the dream, (which is fun). Then the body says, enough, (already), and then it shakes you awake. Good morning. Welcome back into consciousness, and now get up and make a coffee. The body is demanding a "Caffeine Kick".
