Alex filed a lawsuit in Federal court regarding the site(s) suspension. Several of their sites were suspended. Heard Google has reinstated the sites today pending court decision. Innocent until proven guilty still works, sometimes.
As people wake up to the fact that their freedom is an illusion, and they are being controlled. Then it's not such a big step to awakening to the greater illusion.
Actually, in the case of copyright infringement it's guilty until proven innocent. Meaning that unless Google takes immediate action whenever a DMCA claim is made they're liable to loose a lot of money, Google already lost half a billion dollars on youtube last year. Meaning that every logical thinking executive would try to keep the losses to a minimum, if that means some discomfort to the users. So be it. The DMCA is draconian and unfair but you should blame this on the government allowing the copyright industry to push laws, and not blame Google for being the victim of this law.
You should expect a lot more advertisement and monetisation of youtube. If this bothers you, imagine what you prefer, youtube with adds, or no youtube at all....
Seeing Jones as protection from the government is in my opinion similar to seeing the pope as protection from sexually transmitted diseases. There's a lot of noise on the subject but no real content.
Do you think the "evil shadow government" would go through the trouble to attempt to silence the man by blocking his youtube account? Ignoring all his videos that were already copied and then placed into other peoples accounts? Also ignoring the very obvious and non surprising outcry of the masses? If they wanted him silenced he'd die in an accident or of a particularly virulent form of chicken herpes.
Here's what's going to happen... Jones sued the newspaper that filed the DMCA takedown notice right? Either the newspaper backs down or they counter sue Jones for libel on some silly remark he made about them being in some kind of shadow governments pocket.
If Jones reaches the courts and his work somehow becomes entangled as part of the ruling. Then I can assure you that he's not going to win. He cannot prove 90% of his claims. And the newspaper would like to use this if they can. However I don't think this case is strong.
Also this newspaper has little to win by taking down Jones. They could put all this down as removing a nuisance from the public. Jones could be painted as a conspiracy nut who bit of more than he could chew. People love to pick on these guys. But in the end this is just a minor bonus.
And at the same time it would be a big bonus for Jones his work. Because so many people would get introduced to his work. The newspaper guys are probably not stupid. So I expect them to foresee this. (Although they did allow themselves to get dragged into this swamp in the first place)
I expect the newspaper to drop it's DMCA charges. And take on the internal policy to never mention the man again. Jones will proclaim himself victorious once again against the "evil shadow government". And that will be it.
But of course this is speculation. I'm a psychologist, not a lawyer.
Meanwhile back in the secret lab. The true leader of the western hemisphere is reading the reports for the day and laughing his bottom off..
I think Jones should be allowed to do what he does. The fact that I don't agree with him and think he's silly doesn't mean he should be silenced. He's what you get in a free society. He's a healthy symptom. A welfare problem. Do you think China Iran or Russia have equivalents? In a way he is in fact protection against the government. He's like the Canary in the mine. As long as he's still singing his song you're kind of safe.
