Unless you are an adept who came here to be at the frontline, so to speak, purposefully living the same down to Earth life as your peers, but with the exception that you are demonstrating alternative ways of acting/reacting to everyday events (catalysts).
People around me (those not too close) are unaware of my spiritual side. I am a very logical person. Nonetheless they believe I am weird simply because of the weird ways I handle things (weird in a good way fortunately). For example, if at work someone gets angry with me they are met with calm understanding or if denigrating the work of other teams, because of the "not invented here" syndrome, they are presented with a reasonable perspective of how things are seen from the point of view of the other team.
People are not used to seeing this sort of thing, but it shows them that it's possible. So it gives people a chance of making such choices themselves if they like the result of what they witness. My team has already benefited politically inside the business from such influence (in lessening the typical infighting and political intrigue that goes on in big businesses in between people and teams). That is just the tip of the iceberg, for in their personal lives this influence can have great rippling effects.
In order to effect this, you cannot just let yourself become detached from the reality they remain in. You have to be a rational "normal" person, not religious or spiritual because this unfortunately is off-putting to people nowadays. But you can allow yourself to be weird when doing that work.
Anyway, I just wanted to point out that the "mission" an adept is on, can have a great incidence on such things.

It is unfortunate that spirituality is not always appreciated but neither is common sense. I really never speak of such things unless I am in the presence of others that are into that sort of thing because of that very reason; people simply do not want it or think its goofy; or if I am asked which is hardly ever.
