Your focus shouldn't be despairing over how people aren't the way you want them to be.

first - it's not 'them', it's 'us'. second - i don't want people to be anything but what they themselves want to be. i wish everyone happiness but what i see is people sowing seeds of suffering. my emotional response to this disparity is sadness.

It's your choice if you want to make friends with people who share your values and work towards something together or just feel endlessly upset over the way the things look on the surface.

i guess you got the image of me in your head pretty depressed. to me, everyone is a friend unless proof otherwise. and values i believe in are not 'mine', they are common and shared by many people. do i wish more people share them? yes, definitely.
