No I agree with you Glow. I think you hit the nail on the head. 
One can also look at psychic greeting as an opportunity. A chink in the armor of light has been exposed, and that negative entity helped one to see that. It's nothing to be fearful over. That would get one caught up in the greeting by constricting the energy body further, which would allow the entity to drain one of his light/love, i.e. Vampirism.
