From Idries Shah, The Sufi:
The false teacher will keep his followers around him all the time, will not tell them that they are being given a training which must end as soon as possible, and will not give them the opportunity to taste their development themselves and carry on as fulfilled people.

Exactly, this is why I immediately felt the Ra material felt right. It was all there, with the keys given to you. Simple truths that at first seemed "too simple". But after re-reading and trying to really live in love, from the perspective of the creator, I knew it was the right thing to do.
These spiritual teachers we see everywhere now, never tell you this simple truth ... instead its hours of talks and books ... that keep you close to the truth ... but never access the real "simple" truth: to live in love, every moment, every day.
However, at the end of the day, if people seek a spiritual teacher and gain some benefit from him/ her, then that's good too. As Ra said, "There are no mistakes".
not every teacher is as bad as that description! lol i would hope i don't do that lol.. jeesh.. but i have experienced people who teach in that style, out of lack rather than abundance. Being ready to look for fraud, implies that you are manifesting a situation to show itself to you in that way. I think Ra said something similar about STO ETS providing an abduction type situation based on what the contactee was expecting.
A saying really sticks out at me in attempting to not look at anyone who would earnestly look to open their heart, I suppose it would make me feel bad to be in the situation across someone who is arguably STS, but earnestly seeking towards STO, if I was not present and non judgemental, I'd feel like I was already trying to fight fire with fire.
Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future.
